The receptionist saw that it was my birthday and she gave us a corner room with a beautiful room on the top floor and a little goodie bag.
The bathroom in our room had a glass wall right next to the bed and you could see right in.
We liked the hot tub and sauna
No doors on bathroom
The hotel staff are both very friendly and helpful. First impressions count and the gentleman on reception was cheerful and extremely helpful on arrival. All staff seemed happy and happy to help you. The hotel has a modern bohemian feel and has everything you need for your stay. It’s decorated in a quirky fun and cool manner. It also feels very safe with security measures throughout with the electronic room key used to use the lift, access the corridors on each floor and enter the rooms. In the evening there’s front door security giving a feeling of total safety. The rooms are compact but spacious enough to be comfortable. Ample storage area for luggage beneath the window. Although we marked down slightly for no air conditioning there’s a window that will open. The windows are well soundproofed so you barely hear any street noise. We were not too hot in the room despite no aircon although in hotter weather it may be an issue. It was 21-23 degrees and overcast mainly when we were there. The shower area is very large. The glass of the shower area is visible within the room but it’s actually obscured so as to maintain privacy. So don’t worry over that. Towels are provided and changed daily if required. Shampoo and shower gel are provided. There’s a bar, a restaurant, a rooftop bar and a basement nightclub/bar if needing a late night drink. It’s in the basement and can’t be heard from the rooms so no worries there. The lifts coming down to reception can be very busy when the rooftop bar closes so be prepared for that. We didn’t eat in the hotel but the restaurant seemed to always be busy with passing trade and guests so looked good. We did have a drink in the nightclub. Not cheap for drinks but what hotel in Amsterdam is? Transport to the city is easy. Metro stop right outside the hotel or a tram stop a minute or two walk away around corner to the left.
No aircon in our room although it didn’t affect us. There maybe aircon in some rooms, we didn’t ask. Room was cool enough regardless. The pillows in the room are filled with feathers. Please note this if you have allergies!! We haven’t marked the score down for this as reception staff changed them immediately even though it was very late at night. However, given how many people suffer from allergies the hotel may want to mention this and provide replacement if requested prior to your stay. For my wife it’s something she cannot tolerate, but as said they were exchanged immediately for fibre filled pillows.
Location and staff
I was expecting a higher level of cleanliness.. rooms are not cleaned every day. I have been in the room for 3 nights and yet the bathroom has not been cleaned and i am really disappointed because this is not a proper hygiene atmosphere to stay in.
Cool style in great location. Very relaxing with really helpful staff
