Pros: We loved the service, the complementary Port wine, the breakfast which included mimosas and our very clean and comfortable room. The house and garden are beautiful and perfectly located!
Cons: The coffee was too strong for our taste.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hidden garden gem frontage with charming and ambient home is a refreshing oasis for journeyers who seek to collapse in hospitable comfort. Though surrounded by more large, modern hotels, here you are greeted by smiling faces eager to insure your delight with Cascais. We stayed here fifteen years ago and though this sea coast town has rapidly grown and expanded, Pergola remains its authentically charming self.

Pros: This hostel is picture perfect. The vibe is awesome, everyone staying here was so friendly and sociable so it would be a great place for single travellers to make friends. Laura, the owner, is incredibly friendly and generous, and really wants you to have an awesome stay. The volunteers were also super helpful and nice. Thank you for an awesome stay - hopefully nos vemos pronto! ;)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great, magical place. I liked easy wibe of the hostel. I came with the bicycle to do some trails in Sintra and there was no problem with the bike beaing inside.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked all the facilities, the place is amazing the vibe is very good ...
Cons: The only thing I didn't like is that you can't cook before 1pm, so if you're used to making breakfast eggs while you're staying you'll have to choose other things to eat.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: *great location, next to the forrest, walking distance to the Guincho beach *great range of activities offered by the hostel *good facilities, you can easily rinse & dry your wetstuit
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great; yoghurt, fruit, cereals, milk, bread, butter, jam, etc. No meat or cheese, but you can get all these things from local markets that are close-by (one across the street, another at about 15min by foot). I loved the staff. Laura and Valentina are a great time; very welcoming, warm, and fun to be around. They were also helpful in driving me around to activities, booking the taxi to the airport, and other short trips I needed to make. The activities there are also a great bonus. I only tried surfing, but there is yoga (studio in the house!), rock climbing, wind surfing, etc. Definitely something to do every day and for every taste. The beach is not next to the house (about 20 minutes walk), but I enjoyed this. It's a nice walk through the woods, and a nice meditation on your way to the beach. The view from the balcony is also a big plus; you get to enjoy the mountain and the beach at the same time. Great job, girls. Would definitely return.
Cons: The shower downstairs has a bit of a delay for hot water but it was not a big problem.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house is perfectly situated for running in Sintra, reaching Lisbon and water for Kite, Wind surfing or just Surfing. The entire place is spotless. Laura and Valentina my hosts during the stay where super helpful. The place is really relaxed, tried Yoga for the first time. Wow that stuff is hard, but I like that its good. They also can arrange rock climbing and many other things. Nice breakfast too. Many thanks xx
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place, people and vibes. Laura and her staff made every moment perfect. This place is magical and full with positive vibes. My stay is more over my expectations, a wonderful travel, a nice experience mainly because of the people at the Guesthouse. I am very thankful for Laura for everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place was really nice and relaxed, its good if you want to be in the nature or so kitesurfing and surfing. Nice atmosphere.
Cons: It's not central if you want to go to lisbon and Cascais. It's good to have a car or go by Uber.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location. Nice vibe in the house.
Cons: As a surfer with sandy feet, I felt I was a bit of a nuisance. The house was spotless and not really made for bringing and storing your own gear.

Pros: Tof location, just in the walking street in the center, close to the beach, surrounded by shopings and restaurants. The railway station and bus station is just 5 minutes by walk.
Cons: Need to find parking place for the car . The hotel staff is very kind to inform us the solution of parking the car in the station which is few hundred meters from the hotel with the cost 4 eur/day ( however when we arrived around 6pm it is fully occupied- they said after 7pm there could be chance for parking) but finally we could find other parking area which was accepted for 1 nitght.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, decor, surroundings were all amazing and the people in the hotel were so accommodating, friendly and wonderful. Can’t wait to return.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely superb property. Fantastic location and great facilities. Restaurant was a huge bonus which we used on different days for all meal types (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Could not fault at all and had the perfect balance of being busy but feeling perfectly relaxed. We travelled with our 3month old and staff could not have been more helpful. With everything from arranging cot beds to helping sterilise bottles
6.0 Good
Pros: The hotel is in a perfect location in Cascais surrounded by restaurants and bars with lovely views over the harbour. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: It is expensive to stay and probably not up to 5 stars. Tea and Coffee facilities are not in your room they are in the hallway - Tea bags only. Taxis booked via reception are by private limo and very expensive.
6.7 Good
Pros: Quaint, clean/elegant and great location
7.0 Good
Pros: We thought we had booked the Hotel Albatroz so the Villa and its location was a big disappointment. However the staff made us most welcome. The bed was most uncomfortable and the room not quite what we expected. However we did enjoy our stay.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing special, maybe the location and the breakfast. People in receptio were nice.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Central location by the seaside.Villa Albatroz is the sister hotel of Hotel Albatroz and therefor allows access to the pool of Hotel Albatroz where one can relax when the beaches are too crowded and/or too hot. There one can have lunch as well, with a fantastic view to the sea and beaches.
Cons: Villa Albatroz is supposed to be a 5 star hotel, but I expect a few of those stars are "inherited" from Hotel Alabtroz. It has a good location but unless you get a discount it's not good value for money. Our room was a Standard Double with Sea View, but you had to stretch your neck to see the sea. Most rooms do not have a balcony. Breakfast was a bit dull as well.
6.0 Good
Pros: Service was very good. Location was excellent.
Cons:
7.2 Good
Pros: High degree of servises.
Cons: No.
5.6 Okay
Pros: Good staff and location
Cons: Standard of decoration was fair, given the 5 star rating this was poor.
5.2 Okay
Pros: The view and the quality of food
Cons: The noise outside and the lack of modern facilities
7.2 Good
Pros: the ^restaurant was very good - they have an excellent chef who creates innovative cuisie with local ingredients The wines offered were excellent. The staff were friendly and helful and I felt like I was known there rather than room number one - take the room 1 as it has a small balcony and you can hear the waves from the beach - it was very comfortable.
Cons:

Pros: Beautifully renewed old building, tasteful interior, modern rooms, beautiful garden for deen relaxation.
Cons: Actually there is nothing to improve. If I have to find something I would say the deckchairs in the garden could have been less plastic, but they are ok comfy though
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I wish I was still there now! a complete oasis of charm w beautiful rooms, a lovely garden and a great sense of elegance and charm. Nice touches like a loyalty bar and Netflix made coming back to the room feel so cosy and hint to a quiet understanding that the guests are well considered here. And for all the ladies...a full strength hair dryer for once..not attached to the wall!!

Pros: Each morning we woke up to the sound of waves in our comfortable room (210). Good shower. TV worked. Welcoming decanter of Porto in the room. Great strolls along the waterfront. A very helpful staff. Well stocked breakfast buffet. Gorgeous views from our balcony.
Cons: Nothing to report.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous room, view, comfy beds, nice bathroom, lovely breakfast and terrace, quiet, great hotel staff and so close to the train without ever hearing it!
Cons: No complaints!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located on the cliffs over the beach just a hundred m from the train station and 35 minutes from Lisbon. The parking is at the private place at the entrance - easy and rare nowadays in city centres. The lobby design is splendid. Our collection room on the top floor under the roof, decorated with wooden panels and warm wooden floors had a 270° magnificent view at the sea and swimming pool sides through 2 round shape windows. The room looked great and was exactly what we imagined when booked it, even more spacious, with a big bathroom in modern style. Cosy bed with quality linen, tv receiving lots of international channels, a jar of tawny port wine as a compliment, bathrobes, mirrors. The breakfast is huge and served at the terrace hanging over the beach, the dinner is also there and was just what we needed - gastronomical and light, the wine card was the most complete that we had seen in Portugal. You also have plenty of shops and cafes and simple restaurants in the same street. The staff were friendly and were helpful 24/7. We stayed only 2 nights and have to come back to enjoy more seaside activities.
Cons: Nothing. A bit noisy when stormy weather happens , but we slept even better when the raindrops fell on the window glass and the wind gusts outside together with the waves were rolling the tiny traditional colourful fishermen's boats - just like it was in the old times.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast spread especially fresh fruits were simply excellant
Cons: Nil

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent, personnel friendly and house beautiful.
Cons: Pool looked slightly unclean.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Charming family run large house with pool. Really relaxing and very comfortable. Attention to detail in every aspect. The breakfast excellent. Staff very friendly and hospitable. Highly recommended.
Cons: Location not ideal, 10/15 minutes walk from centre of Cascais.
6.3 Good
Pros: Beautiful house and lovely pool. Great place if you need a break from a day sightseeing, to come back to a beautiful garden and lay on the comfy sun beds at the pool. Breakfast options are good and tasty.
Cons: We arrived at 13h00 at the property and were welcomed by a lovely lady, who informed us that our room wasn't ready yet. We expected that, so we left our bagages at the reception, were given the key to the room and continued our day. About 6 hours later we can back to find our bagages still at the reception, it would have been nice gesture if they were brought to our room, but it was probably a misunderstanding at our end. We booked the Twin room, but I do not recommend it. It's not in the main house and you have the feeling of sleeping in a garden shed. We obviously booked this room knowing this, but it was still a bit of a disappointment especially for the price we paid (€183 a night). The room was small and felt a bit damp. The floor of the bathroom needs a re-do because you can see where people walked as it is discoloured. I won't say dirty because our room was cleaned daily, but it gives this impression. Especially to see the marks where people put their feet when sitting on the toilet is not very appealing... We've had 2 occasions when we turned on the shower a foul smell came out of the shower drain. Didn't report this because I saw it was reported by another guests on the internet, and assumed nothing would change anyway. One morning around 9am we were surprised by the music played on a big speaker next to our room. I'd advise to move the speaker, as not everyone might appreciate to have a speaker next to their room. Overall we didn't have a great experience and unfortunately won't come back. We didn't feel the warmth of a guesthouse. Upon check-out we were bringing some of our bagages to the car before doing the checkout as we had quite a few bagages, where the hostess came "running after us" saying that we still needed to check-out. We got the impression she thought we were leaving without checking out... Not a great feeling to leave with.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very relaxing environment. Good service . Clean . Good breakfast and food. Hosts do everything to make live comfortable .
Cons: Sometimes it ook some time to get thins done but this is probable that we are coming from hectic working environment where things have to be done immidiately. Pool could be heated with solar energy to make it possible to swim even in colder periods. Will be appreciated by several guest during our stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very nice guesthouse / hotel, our room was particularly nice and the staff were very welcoming and eager to please. Breakfasts were a treat!
5.8 Okay
Pros: breakfast was good, although extra was charged for any coffee not out of coffee flask. It seems that the property wasnt quite as advertised...no free pick-ups from airport...no afternoon teas...no wine tasting or yacht trips available.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: All good
Cons: The dog barking in the next door garden. Not a lot you can do about that but it reminded me of home!
7.9 Good
Pros: The staff were amazing. Friendly and so helpful.
Cons: Was just a little far away from the village and beach.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A real home from home. We stayed for 3 nights after travelling down from St Malo, France, to visit the Harley Davidson Rally in Cascais. So I was more than pleased when the guest house more than exceeded my expectations. They allowed us to park our motorbikes behind the security gates, which is always a bonus. We had a big comfortable room with big light bathroom. Breakfast was full of choice, and very well presented. What more could you say, everyone made our stay perfect.
Cons: Nothing

Cons: The gym was quite small
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, this was a marvelous place to stay.
Cons: Nothing.
6.3 Good
Pros: For families with young children there is loads to do, for a range of ages too.
Cons: I had informed the hotel before arriving that my son had a severe allergy to dust. They told me they would inform housekeeping and make sure the room was cleaned appropriately. The rooms are carpeted and like in so many places the vacuum cleaners are clearly very weak. Why can hotels with carpets not invest in decent vacuum cleaners and clean the filters regularly. He will now take at least 2 weeks to recover.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: The playground was exceptional. Staff friendly. Hotel well kept.
Cons: Service was slow at times. Some confusion one night Re bill .

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The Villa is a beautiful property, and very tastefully decorated. Our room, number 3 is a lovely light-filled room with a view of the back/side garden and the pool area. The bathroom in number 3 is very luxurious, full walk-in shower with Rainfall shower head and a hand-held power shower. The bed was very comfortable. (Two twin beds pushed together to make a huge double) There is ample storage space for clothing and other items with a rail and two big drawers, as well as a very handy hat stand which we used for our jackets and scarves. My partner used the pool a few times and said it was lovely, and that it was deep. The location could not be better, it's a short stroll from the Cascais town centre in a lovely residential area. There are a couple of very good cafes and restaurants within a 5 minute walk. It rained a couple of days while we were there and the accommodation had plenty of umbrellas for guests to use.
Cons: The cooked food for breakfast was just ok, it was quite cold a few days that we had it. Although the cook, Isabelle did offer us fried eggs a couple of mornings. And everything else at breakfast was lovely and well stocked.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed was heavenly! Pillows and linens super comfortable! Room very quiet! Breakfast was good. Nice variety, with yogurt, fruits, good breads and rolls and adequate eggs. Coffee was okay. Service was friendly. Room was very pleasant.
Cons: I didn't care for the floors in the rooms. They seemed like they might have been difficult to wash easily (maybe because they were old stone or something?) so I did feel sure they were clean to walkon barefoot.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great decor, great breakfast and a well stocked bar
Cons: Our door handle fell off a couple of times but that happens eh. Not a case of not liking really. The step down to the bathroom at night was a little bit of a surprise in the middle of the night but we got used to it
6.7 Good
Pros: Nice house
Cons: Not particular friendly staff. Cheap fittings (for the price). Beside table collapsed. Shower a bit tight, no shelf for soap.
6.0 Good
Pros: Well located. Nice property.
Cons: It felt a bit grubby. The breakfast room floor was covered in crumbs. Our basement room smelt a bit of damp. The area around the pool was a bit grotty. A huge tv dominated the bar making it unusable unless you were keen on endless sport
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent, walked everywhere. The breakfast was lovely - plenty of meat, cheese, fresh pastries and bread, fruit and yogurt. The room was very comfortable - we stayed in a loft room so there was a slanted roof which got a bit annoying but otherwise loved it. We were on our honeymoon so we got a free cocktail each which was a lovely touch. The staff were excellent - so helpful. The pool was fab, so nice after a long hot day.
Cons: Cheaper drinks in the bar! There was no mint or limes in the bar so some cocktails were unavailable. Lots of stairs which could be an issue for anyone with mobility problems but no issue for us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The villa exuded luxury and comfort.
Cons: The stay was too short... would have to stayed longer.

Pros: Nice resort, with all needed facilities. The bakery in the resort is awesome! Car needed as the beach and also the Cascais downtown is bit far by walking. We did not use the bikes, but rental possible. Thank you to cahrwomen, as they did every day a very good job. Obrigado Bicuda!
Cons: The bathroom needs some renovantion, but very clean that is most important.

6.3 Good
Pros: The grounds of the complex are beautiful and well kept, and the outside of the villas are lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: The inside of the villa we stayed in was worn, basic and tired. The interiors did not, in our opinion, reflect its 4 star rating (rusty fridge, scratched furniture etc.).

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were really friendly and gave loads of great tips on what to do in the local area, the facilities were surprisingly good and I really appreciated being able to shower despite having checked out several hours before! The yoga on the pier in the morning was incredible (what a setting!!!), and the room I had was great. It was really easy to find from the train station/Lisbon. It’s not in Cascais, it’s about 20mins away but the walk is beautiful along the coast.
Cons: It’s not a dislike, just something to note- the hostel is split over several houses, so not everyone or everything is in one place.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Extra long bed
Cons: Overpriced considering there is a communal bathroom and we were positioned on a floor with an adjoining dormitory room The hotel is more suitable as a hostel than a hotel Breakfast was very poor, no mugs, no juice, no water, just fruits and seeds Would not recommend for the price, might as well stay in a hostel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast. Lovely house
Cons: All fantastic
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful house with original portugese tiles. 10 minutes walk to the beach. Breakfast just ok. Our bed was really big and comfortable. Free parking outside the villa.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Place is very nice, helpful staff, quiet location
7.5 Good
Pros: Relaxed and friendly property with helpful staff. Delicious breakfast and BBQ’s
Cons: This is a yoga and surfing retreat, although I booked as a hostel stay through booking.com and couldn’t do the yoga or surfing due to injuries and it left me a little out of the loop with everyone else.

Pros: Nice hotel in lovely grounds A good feel to the hotel and facilities Beds were the best that we've had on holiday that we can remember. Massive AND comfortable!
Cons: The food at breakfast was lukewarm unless you asked for an omelette or fresh fried eggs. The staff were pleasant but not UK 5 star in their attitude, attentiveness and ability to read clients needs and wants
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Pedro at the reception was very helpful! I asked how to get to the football stadium, and he drove us there as he was on the way as well, without asking for any money.

Pros: A lovely relaxing stay when with young children

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room is was very comfortable just as described and the staff are nice.
Cons: I have stayed in a lot of 5 star hotels around the world but charging guests a penalty of €30 for bringing in food from restaurants outside the hotel to your room is ridiculous. This is not part of the hotel policy when you are making a reservation, you will only find out about this when you are checking in, well that’s even if you ask the right questions.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room is spacious, with modern, simple and straight decoration. Staff at the reception was always friendly and helpful.
Cons: Restaurant staff’s attentiveness and curtesy could improve to meet 5 star hotel service expectation.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice big rooms, good bed, great breakfast
Cons: Could be a bit „warmer atmosphere“ Hotel not very alive in the evening Service personnel was friendly, but not very attentive Sauna area not as nice as in the pictures
6.0 Good
Pros: great staff, lovely breakfast, good location..huge rooms
Cons: on the first night we (an all other guests) were woken at 4am when the in room fire alarms went off... then on the next night the alarm went off again, thankfully at 7.40 am but still really annoying as we were jet lagged and trying to sleep in... no apologies from the hotel for this...it really let an otherwise nice hotel down.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is set inside a historic citadel. It is conveniently located to sights, shopping, bars, restaurants, beach and marina. The views are stunning from the breakfast room and pool. We were upgraded to a fantastic presidential suite with a modern sleek decor. Our suite overlooked the big courtyard. The staff is so friendly and helpful. We had a car and got a deal from the hotel in an underground parking lot around the corner for 10 euro a day. Breakfast is plentiful and juices and coffee are served at the table which is a nice touch. We loved this beautiful hotel.
Cons: The bed was a little hard.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Room is really spacious. Bathroom was also big but really cold. Especially the floor were cold! It was around holliday 1.11.. Additional beds for childdren were in the room and it was still enough place to move around. Nice welcome bottle of water and apples. Breakfast was really nice and with wide selection of various food. There were even some people drinking champagne for breakfast. Staff was really really friendly. They lady at the breakfast even offered our children coloring page and crayons.
Cons: The room felt cold and moisture. Even though it was 19 degrees outside, but feeling and smell..like it was wet and old....especially in the bedroom. We were really disappointed and sad. Because the room looked perfect on the first look. Probably we could change it if we would say anything at the reception, but we didnt because we arrived late and went to sleep asap.
6.2 Good
Pros: Staff were friendly. Location good
Cons: Room was stuffy and not well aired out. Non smoking rooms had been smoked in. Room was a bit dark and dingey with some broken items such as the bathroom door that wouldnt close. However location was good and staff were friendly. The pool is nice but would benefit from a non smoking area
7.9 Good
Pros: Location, Beds very comfortable, Room good size, Pool and gardens lovely,
Cons: Tea bags very bad. Nothing to do on wet days. Rooms very dark. An indoor pool would be great.
9.0 Excellent

Cons: Coffee here is still "old fashion", pre-boiled and kept warm. Tastes overcooked.

Pros: Great selection of food for breakfast. I always love a good fruit selection and wasn't disappointed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: breakfast was excellent, many choices to meet different needs
Cons: the lighting in the guest room was poor; need stronger bulbs. Also, the drain in our tub was slow to the point that you are standing ankle deep in water from a shower; need to address this.
