Overview

Porto Platanias Beach Resort and Spa is located on the beachfront just down the hill from the village of Platanias and 13-miles from Souda Airport.

Guest of Porto Platanias Beach Resort can choose from 11 types of rooms some of which have a private pool and others have spectacular views of the Ocean from private balconies. All rooms are non-smoking and have individual air conditioning. Large marble bathrooms complete with tubs and hairdryers make cleaning up even easier. Guests can relax and enjoy a show on the color Satellite TV or put on a music channel. Rooms come with a direct dial telephone and broadband internet access. A kitchenette, refrigerator, and room service makes sure guests can prepare meals or snacks throughout their stay.

There is a 24-hour reception desk at Porto Platanias Beach Resort as well as currency exchange, laundry facilities, a business center, and conference facilities as well as free private parking and car rental services. Of course, the sandy beach 20 meters from the front door is always available to guests. There are also 5 large freshwater pools with a separate paddling pool for children and an indoor heated pool in the Spa area all of which have sunbeds and umbrellas. Guests can also participate in table tennis, billiards, table games, chess, backgammon, and darts. Activities outside of the resort include scuba diving, mountain bike rentals, horseback riding, sailing, windsurfing, and mini-golf.

Guests can find 5 restaurants and 5 bars on-site at Porto Platanias Beach Resort. Helios and Eros is the main restaurant while Ikaros is a roof garden restaurant, Island is an a la carte restaurant near the pool area, and Iris is a ballroom used for gala dinners.

The staff was great from the front desk to housekeeping. They were constantly looking after the pool area and rooms. The beach was excellent. They always had great suggestions for places to see and eat. Would go back. The only change next time is a couple of days in old Chania to get the flavor of that area. Crete is a real bargain for a vacation.
