Everything! The house is nice, the rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable. There is plenty of food for the guests, and the breakfasts are wonderful. Mama and papa, the hosts, could not be better: the create a ver familiar atmosphere and they help in everything that you can imagine. I will come back for sure.
The lovely host gave me every information I need, and helped me set my plan to go around the city. The bicycle rental service is provided conveniently at the hotel, and is free for the first 3 hours. Overall, great experience.
Mama and Papa make you feel like home. They take care of every detail. Great experience!
The location is a bit far from downtown area (40 min by bus)
Mama and Papa made us feel like we were home away from home, absolutely lovely people and really helpful with every thing we needed. Wish we could have stayed longer. If we would come back to Kyoto we will definitely stay there again. They were really kind and the guest house is really typical Japanese home with a lovely inner garden. Papa is a calligraphy teacher and offers us a beautiful gift to remember this lovely stay. We recommend it 100%.
The hosts are excellent. Mama and Papa aim to make you feel like you're at your grandma's, and it does! There's an atmosphere of a family home, so meeting new people here is always a pleasure. They are very caring and knowledgeable about the region (ask whatever you what, even if Mama doesn't know it, she'll do her best to get you your answer!). Also, the house itself is an attraction: an old, wooden, Japanese style house that's just full of character! After all, what's the point of staying another night in another regular hotel which you'll never remember, right? If you go to Kyoto, don't missed it!
There's nothing to complain! The house is great; the beds, toilets and bathrooms are very clean; there's always food on the table; the breakfast is plentiful and diversified (you night even find something there from your hometown, who knows!).
