Get ‘top up’ Insurance on-linePros: Brilliant service and great cars.Cons: £240 for the rental, great, then they remind me that all Spanish drivers are crazy so it’s best to get their top up insurance at £150 extra!! I know they all do it but I was surprised by the price. Very sour feeling. Get it elsewhere £55 a year! Just check it’s acceptable to the hire firm.
Pros: Staff was extremely helpful. The queue at the airport for pick up was efficient with the ticket system. The allowable upgrade to a convertible for a reasonable price was a HUGE bonus and I really appreciate it - you guys made my vacation. Big thank you!Cons: Nothing at all. 100%

Avis muy buenoPros: Easy to find. Easy to leave airport. Easy to drive. Good mileage. Easy to park in tiny places. Easy to return. I'll rent with them again in Mallorca.

Nice car Nice pricePros: The rental was had at a great price, which is unusual for Avis. The wait was minimal at the rental counter, they gave me minimal hassle for not taking extra insurance and the car was nice and had little damage.Cons: Nothing, it was a good experience.
Cons: Tried to cancel reservation because I didn’t have proper paperwork

Cons: Advising me of damage to car so that I wouldn’t worry that they would blame it on me. On return they advised the damage was preexisting

Cons: We were not made aware of the additional charge for a second driver until after returning the car, when it was too late to decline. We mentioned that we had not been made aware that there was a charge and had not signed. We were charged anyway, which almost doubled the rent price

Worth every pennyPros: Quick and easy pickup. Including excellent response to request to change to a bigger vehicle due to passengers with "too much luggage." And a few days later, could downsize vehicle after getting rid of the overbaggaged passengers. And Hertz made no hard sell for unwanted and overpriced insurance. Absolutely outstanding.

The mandatory insurance will double your quoted price.Pros: The car was fine.Cons: Pickup and drop off was slow. We were charged double the quoted price.
Pros: The staff was very friendly and the car was mostly in good shape.Cons: There was some trash left in the car and the line to get to an agent took forever.

Budget not so budget mindedPros: Car was a Citroën C4. Nice roomy car to drive. Good site lines. Good fuel economy.Cons: I was charged many add one that I told the budget attendant I did not want, repeatedly. I had to return before car pick up and demand they take the extra charges off, which they did. Would not use Budget Mallorca again basedo on my experience.
Pros: Everything was really simple and easy from pick-up to drop-off. I would definitely use them again especially because they have the most affordable rates! Really happy with everything.Cons: Absolutely no complaints. Everything was perfect!
Horrible customer serviceCons: When I ordered this car, the app immediately put the previous name that I had booked the previous car with. When I noticed I messed up, I tried calling the rental car company ACE but after 30 minutes of being on hold I gave up and figured that we could change the name when we picked up the car. When we got there they said that this would not be possible and that we either had to cancel and reorder but the price had gone up $300 or add an additional driver for $8 a day. We were so fed up and tired that we paid the $8 but where is the customer service? I attempted to fix it via travelocity but they said they could not do anything about it. The drivers were around the same age (60) and there was no real difference. This whole process was extremely frustrating and I will never be using this company ACE or Travelocity.
Overcharged at returnCons: Sept 8, 2016 - reserved car at €30.83 eur ($34.71us) per day for a 6 day rental which should have totaled €215.76 eur ($242.95us) Sept 10, 2016 - picked up car and photographed existing scratches and other marks Sept 17, 2016 - returned car at 10:52am and confirmed the same condition as picked up with a full tank of gas Sept 26, 2016 - reviewed credit card charges to find I was charged €292.19 eur ($328.96us) instead of €215.76 eur ($242.95us)
Car Rental MallorcaPros: Friendly staff; flight arrived early and I was able to pick the car up sooner than the booking time. The car had quite high mileage, and a few scrapes and bumps but performance wise I didn't experience any problems.Cons: I thought the fuel charge and taxes were a little high, but overall the rental was good value for money.
Not at the airportPros: New car in good conditionCons: Centauro claimed to be at the airport but in fact are a ten minute shuttle away with irregular shuttles. The waiting time at the office was unacceptably long.
InsurancePros: Cheap car, worked, no issues, Bluetooth audio on lowest priced carCons: The check-in clerk tried to sell me their insurance with "I hope you read the conditions" for more than the price of rental. I said I already have an insurance from Kayak where I booked it. She started that first of all they do not work with Allianz which is the provider and that it's not possible because Allianz could not know what car they are renting me. On the insurance conditions of Allianz, which was quarter the price they offered, there was a line that said that I should call them if the checkin clerk explains that it's not valid, I started dialling and suddenly it was possible to leave a deposit as a credit card authorization, don't get another insurance. The car smelled of cigarettes when I got it, but it was probably cleaned and it was a residual smell. It was quite difficult to find ace at the airport. The information said it's operated by Rhodium. Which in turn is operated at the airport by goldcar. So after getting an ace car, I had to find Goldcar which was not mentioned, but I figured.

You have to pay additional insurance. Even if you had one.Pros: There is nothing I liked about Ace/Goldcar in Palma the Mallorca. The only thing is the fiat 500, but i think i need to thank fiat for that.Cons: First i couldnt take car without additional insurance, even if i had one. Then, i couldnt pay with my eur card as it was mastercard. They wanted visa. There were 4 of us, so i had to discuss additional insurance amount with my tripmates. When we agreed for that 100 eur more, there were noone to help us as this guy i was talking to went for a break. When finally he got back, i wanted to pay this 80€ for the car and insurance, he told me that there will be 80€ more beacuse of some deposit and i would get this back when we get the car back. When we gave the car back, nobody cheked the car/fuel.. I dont even know if i get deposit back, on the parking lot there was noone to help us. they told us „leave the keys” and i was asking „what about my deposit? Nobody cheked the car.” They guy said „you probably get it back within 24hours”. But its one hour left and i dont think so..... even if the car was cheap, all additional payments and we could take bigger car from other company...

Where the heck is ACE?Pros: Car size...no B cars available so we were given a "C" carCons: In Mallorca, there are NO signs directing one to 'GOLDCAR', the ones who handle ACE. Have to ask where to go for ACE. Then not much at GOLDCAR that says ACE. Was not scheduled to pay for insurance. Our credit card covered that. But agent insisted that if we didn't take insurance the 1300 euros charged for a 'hold' would not be returned when car was returned, but a month later and we would have to ask the credit card company for that 1300 euros. Completely deceptive people who I would NEVER rent from again overseas.

Cons: it was horrible. we never found the reservation and we ended up having to pay three times as much.

Cons: Our reservation time upon booking through priceline defaulted to 12 pm, but our flight didn't get in until 6 pm. I had called priceline and they said not to worry about it, but when we got there, they said our rental had expired and they couldn't find us in the system. Now we had to book a brand new rental, which was of course much more expensive and included insurance we could not decline.

Cons: The rental did not say what rental car company. I assumed Ace was the company - but it was Goldcar. Not shown anywhere on the reservation.

Mostly good/ 2 issues not goodPros: The car was nice and a good price. The staff at "Goldcar" were professional.Cons: I wasn't told that I needed to pick up my Ace car at Goldcar. Had to make an international call in Mallorca airport to help line to find out. Bought Allianz ins. on kayak and it wasn't recognized at Goldcar. Had to buy another much higher priced insurance at the counter. Then had to make 2 more international calls to find out what insurance I did purchase so I could cancel it. Not what you want to do when you are overseas.
Never ever in my life and I hope for you tooPros: NothingCons: I've been renting many cars in my life and this is absolutely the worst company on the planet and it's also a scam. Let's start from the end, after I dropped the car I received an email with two pictures of the front seat's floors with normal dust on it. They witholded Euro 30 from the gasoline deposit to vacuum it. Infact when collecting the car they charged Euro 86 for gasoline and they were supposed to return it at return if car was returned full. So they took the freedom to keep Euro 30 form my deposit for the gasoline to vacuum the car. Incredible. Anyway, they will pay for it, dearly. Also if you don't want insurance they charge you with a Euro 1400 deposit. Overall it is a scamming company. DONT GO THERE DON'T GO THERE NEVER USE THEM NEVER EVER!!!
Cons: I made a reservation for $100. At the counter I was informed of additional hidden costs that brought it up to more than $300. The rental company was about 5km from the airport making it very difficult to escape this trap. A REAL SCAM
To maximize your time on the beautiful Balearic Islands of Spain, you should rent a car in Palma de Mallorca and explore the stunning coastline. The public buses are not overly reliable or frequent, meaning car hire is the best choice to navigate the major island of Mallorca. Having access to a car will give you the ability to witness the spectacular cliffs and sheltered caves of Cala Millor and Cap de Formentor, while also visiting the picturesque stone villages of Pollença. It is possible to drive around the entire island in only one day, but to truly immerse yourself in the Mediterranean culture it is advisable to rent a car for a minimum of two or three days.
Car hire companies such as Sixt, Europcar, Hertz, and Avis have conveniently located counters located on the ground floor of Palma de Mallorca Airport next to the arrival and baggage claim area. The trip from the airport to your accommodation will be quick and seamless thanks to a relatively small amount of cars on the island’s roads. If you are staying in the main city of Palma, the MA-19 highway will connect you to the airport in approximately 20 minutes.
Before travelling to Palma de Mallorca, be sure to register for an International Driving Permit that will allow you to legally drive on international roads. Car hire companies will ask to view this license along with your passport before approving your hire. If you are only comfortable driving an automatic, be wary, as most cars on the island of Mallorca and throughout Europe are manual. It is advised that you contact your car hire company and emphasize that you wish to rent an automatic car if this is the case.
Traffic congestion hardly exists on Palma de Mallorca, making the island a driver's dream. You will, of course, encounter more cars and pedestrians in the historic center of Palma, but it is certainly manageable and there is ample room for locals and tourists to coexist.
