Bath hotels near Pulteney Bridge

Pros: The staff was lovely

Cons: I went to the spa and the steam room was cold and I couldn’t used and is £20 por person an one hour so...very disappointed just for that....

Pros: Really enjoyable stay in this lovely hotel. Quirky, smart and comfortable rooms. Tasty breakfast and easy access to the the city centre.

Pros: Location is great, the hotel is beautifully appointed with interesting objet d’art at every turn.

Cons: It’s a Spa, and, the Spa wasn’t open during our stay, which was very disappointing as we’d planned to sauna, hot tub etc after our long walks. There wasn’t any notification, I only found out when I went to book. Poor. We stayed in cupboard no.5 on the third floor. The fire alarm sounded for a long period during our stay, we evacuated and on our way down, it stopped... when I asked at reception, she didn’t know what had happened, ‘’I think it’s a test in the kitchen’’ very concerning. At breakfast on our first day, the older gentleman serving was incredibly rude. We’d asked for some fresh toast, after 10 minutes or so it hadn’t arrived, so asked again. He stood by our table and pointed at the half slice in the rack, as if to say, eat that before you get more. Ignorant pig. He then brought white instead of brown. In his strop, he didn’t even ask his colleague what we’d requested. At over £150 a night, this is vastly overpriced and was a very unpleasant experience.

Pros: The attention to detail made this a very quirky, interesting, smart and stylish place to stay. We particularly enjoyed the complimentary larder open to guests.

Pros: Small boutique hotel with exceptionally friendly staff. Rooms are filled with collectibles. It is a short walk (2 minutes) from The Bridge where the center of town starts- makes for a quiet night away from the night life

Pros: Bed was amazingly comfortable. Quirky decorations on walls. Lovely idea of a free pantry.

Cons: Actual room was cramped. Booked 3 months in advance but felt like this was the only available room. If your not good with small spaces this room would not suit.

Pros: The property was amazing and so centrally located.

Pros: Just so pretty, glamorous, quirky and perfect in every way. Upgraded free of charge. Fantasric friendly and efficient service. Amazing food and cocktail...will be back!

Cons: There was nothing!

Pros: Room was large with a king size bed and facilities were what was required there were also tea making facilities which are always welcome.

Cons: Toilet/bathroom window of our room overlooked the main road but the glass was not frosted. It had a sort of transfer over the glass which didn’t seem very private when I looked up at the window from outside I could see through the glass. Ok from ground level you wouldn’t be able to see much but I’m not sure what people on the upper deck of a bus could see?

Pros: Really nice place, friendly staff, good breakfasts, nice and clean and so central and convenient. There’s a nice bar on the ground floor which is a pleasant place to relax before going out in the evening. We visit friends in Bath quite frequently, so sure we will rebook next time we go.

Cons: This was our first stay at the Arlington. We booked a very nice room downstairs which was a themed room in the old house kitchens. However, it was very dark without much light from the outside. So next time we will opt for a room on a higher floor at the back overlooking the park area. Ironically this should work out cheaper too.

Pros: The staff went beyond to ensure we were comfortable. The cooked breakfasts and menu choices were excellent. Bed was very comfy and slept like a log. Quiet at night. Wonderful stay

Pros: The hotel was charming and restaurant exceptional. We loved the relaxed and informal vibe and the staff were very gracious and welcoming. The room was nice with just a few minor cracks in paint / wood etc, and could perhaps do with an update. However overall we loved it.

Pros: Very interesting quirky hotel close to the city centre

Pros: The building is beautiful, the location great, it’s easy to get to. The spa wasn’t too good, consists of a pool, a steam room and a sauna. The changing room has 2 showers, one toilet and a very small area between where everyone must change. The fact it’s free to use compensates for this and the staff here were amazing. The rooms are very clean, very impressed with the cleaning team. Actually the whole place was very clean. The staff on reception and in the spa were second to none. The rooms are very clean and the food itself was very good. Unfortunately the dinner / breakfast management team massively let this establishment down.

Cons: As we waited in the lounge area to be seated, the couple next to us were looked after incredibly well while my friend and I were not. It was very hard to get anyone’s attention. We asked for olives while we waited. Our food arrived, the olives didn’t, I asked the manager to take them off as we didn’t get them, he turned to the bar man (while he was busy) saying not to get the olives! It was my friend’s birthday, after mains, I asked if the waiter / manager if they could bring a piece of cake off the menu with happy birthday, no cake came only a board saying happy birthday. The next morning breakfast was just as bad. Some couples were looked after very well while others including my friend And I were not. We were told to tell them if we wanted anything but getting anyone’s attention was impossible unless you walked to the front of the room. On leaving the olives were still on the bill! Then I was charged for dinner twice. Such a shame the service team were not as friendly as the ladies on reception and in the spa. Very disappointing, them I won’t be going back and won’t recommend this place to anyone.

Pros: very charming hotel friendly helpful staff. I ate in their pantry. Nice casula atmosphere but very good quality food and excellent beverages choice

Pros: Lovely room with very comfy 4 poster bed and bathroom with a bath so was able to have a long soak.. heaven. excellent dinner both nights and very good breakfast both mornings. Lovely position away from traffic noise so nice and quiet. A long walk into town but I noticed a bus stop in front of hotel, will investigate this for my next stay, yes I will be back.

Pros: We had two nights here and enjoyed really friendly, good service all the time. We managed to get into the car park which at £20/day isn't cheap but the best option as you can come and go subject to a first come first served space policy. The bar is cosy enough as we had pre dinner drinks there one night. The are of course stacks of restaurants and cafes within easy walking distance as the hotel is so central, plus all the shops and attractions are also close by. We took a superior room as it gave a bit more space. the standard rooms are very nice as well especially for single travellers. In all a really pleasant stay.

Cons: We went out for breakfast the first morning and the next day we tried the hotel one. It's not bad although the pricing isn't flexible at £15/head so if one of you only wanted a slice of toast and a cup of tea, it's £15 take it or leave it. . Not sure what happened to the old "continental" choice. So £60 for four when there are really decent cafes less than 100 yards away doesn't make sense to be honest.

Pros: Hotel is in great location for site seeing and getting around Bath.Hotel room was very nice. Concierge and desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very nice. Buffet selection was impressive especially with the additional made to order options. The breakfast staff was so wonderful that they even served me when I mixed up the times and arrived late. They were very professional and friendly.

Cons: The walls were thin and I could hear everyone passing by in the hallway, but earplugs solved that issue.

Cons: Changed rooms twice because of technical problems then woken st 1am by noisy neighbours

Pros: We stay in Bath quite often and I have always enjoyed trying different locations, however, I think we’ll stick with this one from now on: ideal position in the centre of everything, charming, helpful staff, great decor with that Jane Austen feel, excellent breakfast and a really comfy bed. Thank you for a truly enjoyable break.

Pros: Location great. Staff really warm and welcoming. Nice decor and the bar is lovely. We didn’t eat at the hotel but the restaurant did look very nice. Would stay there again.

Cons: Our double bed was actually 2 singles pushed together. Not sure why hotels do this it makes for an uncomfortable nights sleep. This is the reason for giving it a 6 out of 10. If they had given us a proper double bed an better pillows they would have got a 10.

Pros: Absolutely perfect, in every way. We will definitely be back!
