Overview

New and cozy Hotel opened in the summer of 2011. The standard rooms are bright and comfortable with Icelandic avant-garde design. We offer rooms with wheelchair access, rooms with sofa studio where you can sleep less and the possibility of connecting rooms, which are perfect for families. The view from the hotel is superb. Enjoy not only the natural wonders of alreddores, but also the best skiing in Iceland and cultural life of the capital of the North. The geothermal water pool is right outside the hotel and the center of Akureyri just steps away. The garden is really nice in winter as in summer. Enjoy the auroras near the fireplace. The hotel has a restaurant and upscale bar. The courtyard leads to the lovely hotel garden where you can enjoy a pleasant atmosphere in both summer and winter. Guests can sit around the fireplace and warm under fur blankets. The hotel has tremendous facilities for celebrations and parties.

Summary of reviews

Guests say
Guests consistently praised the hotel's excellent location, often noting its proximity to the city center and ease of access. The breakfast received high marks for quality and variety, and many guests appreciated the spacious and comfortable rooms. Friendly and helpful staff were frequently mentioned as a highlight of the stay. However, several reviews pointed out issues with noise, particularly from the street or hallways, and some found the bathroom layout lacking in privacy. Overall, the positives outweighed the negatives, making it a popular choice for travelers.

Carol, Feb 2017
Pros (+) This hotel is located at the top of a hill right in town. We had views of the mountains around us and the water below. What more can I say...loved it!

Pros (+) Clean, and nice hotel. Good value for the money.
Cons (-) Location of bathroom was odd and uncomfortable. If is right behind the head of the bed and you hear everything. Other than that good rooms.
