Pros:
Great buffet breakfast and very attentive staff. Excellent shower! Club lounge good value.
Cons:
The hotel should start to eliminate single use plastic. I saw no evidence that they are moving towards this, unlike many other hotel chains. Small plastic bottles of water where a large dispenser could be installed and refilled, toiletries could be refillable rather than tiny bottles/bars of soap.

Pros:
An absolutely fantastic choice for staying in Hanoi. We stayed in a club-level room and the service was impeccable. From our check-in, to the staff in the lounge, to the staff in the main restaurant, to the cleaning staff, everyone was friendly, helpful, and made us feel very welcome. We often stay in executive/club levels in Saigon/Hanoi, and this one is definitely one of the best we've stayed in during the past 6 years in Vietnam. Other Positives: --The bed was soft and comfortable--this is a huge plus in Asia --The lounge had the most incredible happy hour. It was a mini buffet, not 4-5 dishes. Each night it was different and from the smoked salmon to the seared tuna to the roasted chicken, it was just wonderful. We didn't need to go out for dinner with this vast array of food. They even had 6-8 desserts and 4-5 fruits each night. It was a large, uncrowded lounge with lots of room for people to spread out, and the seating was inviting and comfortable. --The service deserves to be mentioned again. Each evening we were welcomed to the club lounge by name, and it was a warm, welcoming atmosphere. --The room was very nice. There was a great view over the lake and a comfortable arm chair to sit in. --The bathroom had a tub and a stand alone shower. The Grohe rain shower is worth mentioning--simply the best and it makes me want to buy one for my own home. --The morning buffet breakfast was vast and delicious. From chocolate croissants, to omelets, to hot dishes (all served with lovely lattes or teas), there isn't much you could want that wasn't on this buffet. Excellent service by the restaurant staff, which deserves recognition.
Cons:
I'm honestly not sure there is much to improve upon! It will be our first choice upon returning to Hanoi.

Pros:
The staff are extremely helpful and cannot do enough for you. They make you feel both very welcome and as if you are with very close friends. It is a great location close to the Old Town. Breakfast extremely varied -- European and Asian dishes on offer -- plenty of it and very good value for money.
Cons:
The hotel is trapped in a time warp and exhibits all that is hideous about 1970s decor. Both decor and facilities could do with a makeover. Faded splendour comes to mind. Like many hotels in the Far East they are smoking rooms and there is nothing on either hotel booking websites or the hotel's website to warn you of this. I booked what I thought was a non-smoking room and only after a great deal of fuss was transferred to a non-smoking room. Their should be a very clear advice if booking a room it is a smoking room you are booking.
