Pros:
Everything was fantastic.. we stayed for 1 night in route to Durness..so glad we found this wee gem of a place..the owners are so friendly and make u feel at home the minute you walk in the door..the best hosts you could ask for. our home made fresh cooked evening meal and full breakfast was the best weve had in a relaxed cosy hotel..weve stayed in quite a few.. our room was lovely, fresh, and clean to high standards.was very comfortable and homely with views overlooking the lovely garden courtyard.. we cant forget to mention the gorgeous Daisy the dog.. who also made us feel very welcome. We are so glad we found and booked to stay here for part of our october travels...in fact we love it that much we are going to go back again next spring..and definately for more than 1 night .. Thank you again from the both of us. Look forward to our next visit.
Cons:
There is absolutely nothing negative i can say about this hotel or the owners/staff..

Pros:
Couldn’t have been more welcoming, and made lovely dinner and breakfast. The room was cosy and clean. We loved Daisy the dog too! I would definitely recommend staying here.

Pros:
Near Dunnet Head and John O’Groats. Also near Castle of Mey but no hope of getting in there with current restrictions. Easy to find.
Cons:
Heating was by a heater we had to switch on if needed. Couldn’t open or lock the door, weird lock, had to call the manager out when we returned from dinner. He wasn’t happy. Breakfast OK. Covid measures OK.

Pros:
Great room and bathroom. Loads of tea/coffee makings. Unfortunately their eve chef had left but they provided alternative venues close by. Breakfast was superb, the best of the 9 hotels we stayed in on the NC500.

Pros:
The owners were absolutely lovely and couldn’t have been nicer to us given the situation. Location was perfect for us as it was close to ferry port for Orkney
Cons:
Due to the chef leaving, we were the only people staying so it felt a bit strange. The hotel main bar looks a little dated and did smell foisty.
