Pros: The castle was amazing. It looks recently renovated so it doesn't have that spooky feel. There isn't much to do on the grounds except relax and enjoy the scenery which is perfect for a romantic night's stay.
Cons: Just a note- when booking the castle, not all rooms are in the castle itself. You may be in the quarters in the back.

Cons: €10 for breakfast could of included a tea or coffee for no extra charge
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff. Within walking distance of some of the attractions we wanted to see. Small but cozy room.
Cons: Thin walls - could hear people laughing next door. Bed was a bit on the harder side (personal taste though, not the establishment's fault).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Immaculate place to stay. Great value for money. Superb breakfast.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We've stayed at the hotel a few times now and absolutely love it. The room we always stay in is beautifully furnished and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the hotel is in walking distance of the town centre.
Cons: My only issue with the hotel is around the restaurant openings. Usually it's fine but on this particular stay over the weekend the restaurant was closed at 5pm. The hotel doesn't have a bar or any alternative place to get food so that was a bit disappointing as we had travelled for an Valentine's trip. What made things a little worse was that we had won a competition for a 50 euro voucher for the restaurant but couldn't use it during our stay. We had decided to take the trip when we found out we'd won so it was very disappointing in that respect. Though despite the issue we will be returning in July so it hasn't out us off too much. We appreciate the restaurant issues were beyond the control of staff. We'd been told there were renovations so that was why it was closed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: great staff, great location and the best breakfast I've ever had.
Cons: nothing

7.0 Good
Pros: very good plenty of choice and plenty of seating
Cons: nothing
9.0 Excellent
Pros: A very homely place to stay, great location also.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It's a large full service hotel which is bit of a surprise for Ireland and yet it still manages to feel like an inn. Our double/double room was large and quiet. Full Irish breakfast is included, there is a pool and restaurant on premise.
Cons: This is not something we didn't like but a heads up to other travelers. We stayed one night, a Friday in July. I called the hotel a couple of weeks in advance to ask if we needed a dinner reservation to eat there and the person told me no. When we arrived the restaurant was nearly full and they asked if we had a booking! Fortunately they were able to fit us in.

Overview Reviews

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful views and location. Comfortable at home feel. The room had a gorgeous sea view and was very spacious - bed was comfortable. The breakfast was fabulous and the dinners were all exceptional. Compliments to the chef! Great bar staff as well :-)
Cons: It was quite cold, often in the room, but especially in the corridors and some of the sitting rooms upstairs. The bed was very comfortable but the pillows were much too high - I ended up sleeping on a towel instead. The jacuzzi water in the spa was also just luke warm. I was looking forward to a lovely hot jacuzzi after a walk on the beach but unfortunately had to take a hot shower after the jacuzzi to warm up. My partner and I were celebrating our anniversary after a few extremely difficult years. I had written this to the manager prior to our stay. It would have meant a great deal if the staff could have done something a bit special for us - even a simple glass of champagne.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Foyer with open fire, bar, staff. The setting is beautiful.
Cons: The rooms could do with a upgrade in terms of decor.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is on one of the most beautiful beaches in Ireland. A charming hotel with lovely staff.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location and view was beautiful. Dinner was lovely too, with great bar and atmosphere.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Deluxe Room was spacious and comfortable with impressive views of the sea and Donegal landscape. Evening dinner and breakfast was of a high standard. As the property is overlooking the beach it is also in a prime location for walking and exploring the area.
Cons: The decor is quite dated and could do with a facelift but the location, comfort, staff and food mean you get over it very quickly.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked how friendly and professional the staff were - everyone was so pleasant - from the lady at reception, to the bar man who made us cocktails even though they weren't on the list and happily brought our drinks through to the lobby where we were fireside and also the waitresses and senior staff at dinner and breakfast. It was one of the best hotel stays we have had.
Cons: N/A
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Too be honest the breakfast was average. We didn't get down to 950 I'd say the bacon and sausage were cooked for a while.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The size of the room was incredible & the view of the beach from it beautiful. Big bathroom with a double walk-in shower, so easy excess, something I found helpful, & think others with a disability would be grateful of. The evening meal, fillet steak, was cooked to perfection & tasted as good as I’ve had. Wife’s said her Sea Bass was the same, beautiful. We would surely stay again, & I’d also recommend to others if they are intending to stay to try & can get a room facing the ocean, as there’s nothing more relaxing than simply sitting watching the waves roll in for a while, especially if your days are nonstop.
Cons: Although the room was large, the bed comfortable, & scenery from the window second to none. When we eventually went to bed & turned the tv on for the last hour, the placement of the tv & bracket on the wall meant we couldn’t turn it to suit, it also sits a distance for the bed. Strangely with such nice rooms, the bathroom door, old & glass panelled, had wooden edging missing & this took away from the entire room.
