Pros:
Mystic River is amazing! The grounds are stunningly beautiful, the staff couldn’t be nicer or more attentive, or the day tours more exciting. It was so so so nice to get out of the coronavirus world as there are no cases in Belize. I am a single Mom traveling with my 16 year old. I felt safe the whole time. We will definitely return to Mystic River Resort!

Pros:
This was one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The resort feels like a personal jungle retreat. The free river tubing and canoeing were fun. On the property we went for jungle hikes, saw toucans, iguanas, and a monkey. We laid in hammocks over looking the river and ate AMAZING food prepared by the in house chef. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing (or romantic) getaway.
Cons:
The property is higher up the hill on the river on a mostly unpaved road. This wasn’t a problem for us, and the staff arrange taxis up and down; it was just an unexpected cost for us.

Pros:
The communication and location and restaurant and bar in fab location. We stayed in a cloud 9 suite which was quiet and private very modern and clean canoed down to san Ignacio, fab all drivers to and from were very good birds such as Acari toucans, Mot-Mots and Keel Billed Toucans, humming birds and more seen regularly around the property and on the bird table outside the restaurant orchids and planting around the gardens was lovely All the staff were friendly and helpful if a bit rushed on our first night when they were struggling a bit with the amount of people to look after - after that we had great service
Cons:
You really are stuck in having to eat on site which makes it more expensive although the food was excellent apart from our first night when there was no room for us to eat in the restaurant so we had to eat in the bar and the food that night wasn’t great. But all other food was excellent. I also had hoped there might be yoga regularly to join in but you have to book and pay for a minimum of 4 people to do it

Pros:
It is well run. Staff is efficient and friendly. The grounds are well kept and beautiful.
Cons:
The mosquito’s were intolerable. My son and I left covered in bites. It made our stay very challenging. Disappointed in the very limited options available to eat and found it over priced based on what we got. Having said that...they were very accommodating in making an effort to provide something for us as we are vegan.
