Pros: Checking in was a breeze. The hosts are nice and make sure you feel at home. The place is clean and the decor is nice. The breakfast was real good and hit the spot.

Pros: Neighborhood gem, such a beautiful house in a cute garden. Beautiful room with character, spacious bath. Delicious breakfast.

Pros: The Inn is beautiful, cozy, sparkling clean and a joy to visit. The hosts and friendly and most accommodating. Highly recommend staying here during a trip to Eugene!

Cons: Nothing I disliked, but since everything is antique, you can’t open the windows. Glad I brought a tiny dan for some ambient airflow.

Pros: Everything exceeded my expectations. Especially since it's located in a part of town that people refer to as "Felony Flatts" it's not the nicest part of town. But since the new owners took over this motel they have went above and beyond the rooms are beautiful and for the price it's a steal!!

Cons: I didn't like that you weren't able to have company over. They tell you when your checking in after you give them your vehicle make and model they tell you they don't allow any visitors which I thought was a huge bummmer as it was my place to stay and I would have liked for some family to come and have a movie night but we weren't able to do so. I feel like if I'm paying for a room that I should have be able to have a person or two over I'm not saying a whole party but what harm would my mom or grandma be coming over to visit with me?

Pros: Clean, could tell it was recently remodeled, great value for the money, especially good for a short layover before or after a flight.

Cons: Road noise was a constant so if you don’t bring earplugs, go elsewhere.

Pros: Probably the cheapest motel in Eugene and well worth it. Staff is always nice, the rooms are very clean, and a good size for the price. Obviously it’s not going to be luxury for such a cheap price but honestly, as a local, it’s my favorite place in town to stay.

Cons: The location is the only thing that isn’t great. Pretty far away from the hubbub of town. But there’s a bus stop within walking distance, a good restaurant next door, and the street is quieter than it would be if you were downtown or something.

Cons: The breakfast sandwich (egg with bacon) was beyond bad. It was half frozen still and tasted awful. Also, they gave us the wrong food in one of the bags.

Pros: The bed was very comfortable, cozy room with king bed, couch, desk, big TV, and big bathroom. This hotel is located right off the far end of a mall, so right down the street are several restaurants, movie theater, arcade, bowling, and more.

Cons: It is an old hotel, but has a lot of character. It's hard to get a full hotel experience right now with Covid, so we missed the restaurant being open, the furniture in the lounge by the fireplace, and those things. It's not the hotels fault. During our stay we wanted to run to a regular grocery store to stock a few snacks in our room, the closest regular grocery store, (not a whole foods, or trader Joe's type store( was a ways away. And you have to pay $10 a night for parking.

Pros: Probably great property when built in 1971. Now, this place is horrible. Not exaggerating. Rooms dated hotel dated. So many things wrong to mention. Sounds from upstairs are too loud. Just walking across the floor is almost unbearable.

Pros: The Inn had been built in the 70's and allowed to drift for a while. But there's been a lot of attention to detail recently and it shows. We've been visiting Eugene regularly for over 40 years and have stayed just about everywhere. Valley River's back on the top of the list.

Cons: If you buy a room on an online site the Valley River Inn takes away all amenities. No breakfast, etc.. Also when the staff see's your online rate their attitude completely changes to the negative. Restaurants food was very poor and very expensive.

Pros: This is one of the older luxury hotels that has been wonderfully maintained. Spacious and beautiful with all the amenities you could want. Gracious staff and the restaurant and lounge were perfect!

Pros: I thought the location of the hotel was excellent. The restraint in the hotel was so good that we didn't eat anywhere else during our trip. We loved it here and will come back in the future.

Pros: Room service food was excellent. We shared the steak dinner and a Cobb salad. The beef was terrific as was the salad. Even though the hotel is about 45 years old, the room was newly renovated. The furnishings and decorations were very nice.

Cons: Our only complaint was the bed was harder than is comfortable for us. Other than that, great stay.

We literally just layed on the blankets and slept fully clothed bc it felt gross. We only went to this hotel as an emergency evacuation due to forest fires but I would have rather slept in my car if I didn't have children with me. this place is easily top 2 of the worse hotels I have ever been in. there was a zero money back cancellation and it put me in a hard spot to leave and get another hotel.

Cons: The lady who checked us in was nice enough to allow us to check in early for just an additional $10 charge. Before we had even had a chance to check out room she had informed us that she would not be back in the office until 3pm. We went to our room and the entirre room was extremely dirty! There was only one large towel and one wash cloth and no garbage sack in the trash can. We could not change rooms because she was not there at that point. There wasn't anyone on property that could help us switch or help us with anything for that matter. The guest staying in 108 right next to us had very heavy traffic coming and going mostly from either room 103 or 102, from the time we checked in until around 5am when we finally were able to fall asleep. At one point around 1am I opened the door and asked the 3 visitors that were standing outside in front of room 108 to please quiet it down because there were so loud we could not sleep. They did not say anything at all. One of them laughed and the other only gave me a very dirty look then they went into the room and proceeded to be very loud. I tried calling the office several times between 1am-5am with the phone in the room as well as both of our cell phones but no one ever answered. When we checked out we explained the situation to the lady in the office and she said there was nothing she could do. Not one apology or sincerity whatsoever. Very unprofessional and extremely disrespectful!

The $20/night pet fee seemed a bit steep as well. The breakfast offered consists of white bread, raisin bran, fruit loops, waffles, orange juice, coffee tea. Better than nothing I suppose? Wifi was slow/not working.

A lot of streets are one-way in Eugene so if you're unfamiliar with the area, be very careful. I nearly died twice LOL. The one-way signs are hard to see, I swear! Haha

Cons: This was the worst lodging I have ever booked. Your rating of stars are inaccurate. This place was dirty, unsafe and almost creepy- I did not even stay there. Took off and went to stay at different accomodation.

Cons: We did not feel the hotel was anything like what it was advertised as. We had paid in advance for the room and don't have the means to just last minute pay for another room. So we made the best of the situation and stayed.

Cons: We had 2 people in a room with 1 queen size bed. They gave us 3 pillows that were old and flat as pancakes. They definitely need to get new pillows and offer more.

Cons: It does not look as nice as the photo. This is the back, not the front. It is about 60 years old and when Choice Hotels took it over in 2006 there was some work done, I would say mainly only painting. I understand it is due for another makeover. We were exhausted from being on the road for eight hours and had booked this motel in advance. It was late and we decided to stay regardless of the condition of it. The linen was old, the matress very thin, the tub had several large chips in it and the door had obviously been kicked in as the repair was amateur to say the least. The fridge had a broken thing along the side and since we have had a bed bug experience we always check the bed and furniture just in case. The bed did not reveal any bugs or their excrement. But when I checked the upholstered chair by lifting the cushion, there was a huge stain in the chair, still wet, smelling rather like urine. No bugs thankfully. Had we not been so tired and already paid for, we would have left. About ten pm the folks upstairs were having a shower, nothing wrong with that but about an hour later before I went to bed I went into the bathroom and almost fell as there was a large puddle of water on the floor and upon examing where it might have come from I noticed a large drop of water on the heated lamp light fixture right above my head. I did not report it until morning as I neede the sleep and what wuild they do but perhaps move us and we could not go thruogh that. I put a towel on the floor and went to bed. The place was just about empty and they put us under an occupied unit with a squeaky floor! I could go on and on but I think you get the point. This place is an enbarassment to your company name. We passed one the next day and we both said, that is what we expected to see that night. The following night we stayed in a Howard Johnson that we were driving by. What a huge difference.

Pros: price was cheap. The room was clean & the front desk people were good to work with.

Cons: There were several mold spots in the bathroom. The furniture was older, and one chair was worn and had some holes in it. It was a decent hotel but more like a 1 star and not a 2 star.

Cons: No pets Too large of a bed for size of room (Difficulty walking past bed and desk) Hotel was not full, everyone was squeezed into on area. People above and next door very noisy into the night.

Cons: The desk clerk didn't know where my room was, sending me upstairs to the wrong part of the complex twice.

Cons: Room needed caulking, had signs of mildew in bathroom, AC hadn't been cleaned n had a smell to it, when tv cabinet door was open could not use the desk. The worst experience was I asked for a wake up call at 6:30am but never happened n I was late!

Pros: It’s a pandemic no breakfast. There were drug addicts making noise all night and domestic violence and fighting and litter in the parking lot and dirty underwear left. There was no hot water for a shower and it was cold in the room the heater was little. It was not that nice of a motel and I would never stay again.

Cons: A lot of things hot water for one and less noise, and less garbage in parking lot.

Cons: For some reason the front desk called and hour before checkout to remind us of the check out time.

Pros: The linens HAD been laundered although clearly they thought that cigarette burns in them are acceptable. There WAS a microwave and small refrigerator.

Cons: This property, despite its name, seems mostly inhabited by long-term residents. It's pretty clearly a high drug use area. The furnishings wouldn't be out of place on a street corner and the whole place is pretty run down. I worried about my car windows (despite hauling everything of value upstairs to the room). It IS cheap but I would have sprung for a better place had I realized what I was getting into.

Pros: It was a good deal. We weren't in the room much, just to sleep. The bathroom was good. It had cable tv.

Cons: When I walked in the room it smelled like smoke. We asked to see if maybe they gave us the wrong room, but they said all rooms are smoke free. They gave us an air freshener. The pillows where flat, the sheets were clean, but with visible stains. I don't usually complain, but the smell was a little too much for us.

Cons: The room, Garbage mattresses and a couch stacked up 10 feet outsideOur door. The woman who greeted us was a heavyset unhappy miserable woman who had nothing but nasty things to say. She had to call the manager to come give us a key. Extremely unhappy!!!!!
