Pros:
Fantastic resort with outstanding service. By the river with nice garden and pool. Good location, and taxies were cheap to move around.

Pros:
We stayed in a Grand room which had a fantastic giant jacuzzi bathtub that fit our whole family, with proper hot water. The extra sitting room, and split bathroom was also very good for a family. Breakfast was good and they had bike rentals right from the property. Being down on the river was very nice and it's relaxing and quiet.
Cons:
Breakfast on New Year's was a little disorganized, with coffee taking forever and coming out cold, and no one refilling the hot water or tea (but that was the day after a big holiday). The bikes were a good price, but they didn't have any small ones or big bikes with back or baby seats to use with kids. The bikes also weren't very well maintained, although they did work. The resort is about 30 mins walk from the downtown area.

Pros:
The price, although relatively high for Thailand, is actually reasonable given the quality of service and luxurious accommodations. The rooms were extremely roomy as well designed. The hotel has an ancient Thai motif that was well executed consistently throughout the resort. The pool area was well done, well maintained and pretty much exactly as shown in the photos. The staff was super friendly and the service was top notch. This time around I was traveling with my wife, her mother, and 3 kids. The hotel very kindly put us into two adjacent good-sized ground-floor rooms, for which we were extremely appreciative. The hotel had a few excellent restaurants on the premises, as well as a fitness/spa (which we did not use at all). The location was superb: right on the river. Fantastic sunrises and sunsets
Cons:
Given the price we paid for this hotel, the breakfast buffet, although good, did not have the quality or quantity of food I've had at other hotels with similar breakfast buffets in this price range. That having been said, they did have a live chef who took orders for omelets. The water in the pool was extremely cold! This is not unusual, however, given the season and the fact that most pools in Thailand are not heated for obvious reasons. Again, given the price of the rooms, the TV was a disappointment: only the standard channels, one movie channel, and just a few foreign language channels. The WiFi was so-so ... but, again, this is not unusual in most hotels (usually because the WiFi architecture is poorly conceived and executed). The 4G phone service in Thailand is hard to beat in any event, so I just mainly relied upon my phone's cell data.
