If you are visiting Bergen for the first time, the historic harbour district of Bryggen is a great base for discovering the city. This UNESCO World Heritage site consists of colourful wooden buildings dating back to the 12th century but has been rebuilt a number of times due to fires. Floien Apartments are located a roughly 5min walk from the Hanseatic Wharf.

Known as Sentrum, the Bergen city centre is a lively residential area with some of the best luxury hotels and Bergen holiday rentals. The central location makes it easy to visit the local attractions, including the 12th-century Nonneseter Abbey.
