I missed the fine print that said the pickup was not at Orlando Airport, but a good 10 miles away, very lucky I was traveling with someone who had their own rental car and was able to take this 77 year old woman to the car rental agency on International Drive. No shuttle was offered from the Airport rental counter and the same economy car I reserved for $350 would be $850 if I picked it up at the airport, kind of left a sour taste.10.0 Wonderful

Everyone was so nice. And when we went to pick up our compact car, the agent looked at my 6’5” son and said that she didn’t think he would fit in the compact. So she upgraded us to a larger car. Definitely earned my respect and future business. Thanks. :)2.0 Poor

I booked through kayak. National in Orlando could not find the reservation. In the end, National rebooked me and charged me a lot more. Kayak also charged me for insurance even though I didn't end up getting the car through them. Never picked up my car. My flight was delayed and when I arrived they were closed and could not get a car. Tried calling and they told me they were out of cars. Horrible . I had to take cabs my whole trip . Never again!6 locations in Windhover

Confirmed pickup time was 11pm. I booked a convertible for special occasion and surprise. So I took my wife via Uber from another hotel where we stayed. (20$). When we arrived at the desk at 11pm, we had to wait ~30 minutes since the sole employee (trainee) was struggling to help the 1 customer in front of us. 11:30 he walked away from the desk with the other people without letting us know what was going on. After 5 minutes I called the phone number mentioned at the desk for when nobody was there. The person at that number was oblivious what was going on and his only advise was to wait. Few minutes later the trainer arrived back. Then the ‘gun’ really started. Turned out that the convertible was not there at all... delivery time at minimal 1 hour as of that moment. No other option than to take another car or wait at minimum 1 hour more. After stating that I would take a small car instead but then obviously to a lower rate, he indicated he could not do that; ‘have to speak to manager’. His manager was put on the phone with me and promised me to give the along going rate with the smaller car and a discount for the inconvenience. He also promised the trainee to be there in 5 minutes ‘more or less’. That turned out to be more I guess because the next 20 he did not show up at least. So the trainee started to do the paperwork and then it turned out that he was about to charge me even more than for the convertible...! That kind of made me upset. I asked him to get his manager back on the phone but the trainee indicated that his manager hung up on him before. At that time I conclude that this was not leading anywhere and to look for another way to surprise my wife for our special occasion. Her ~1.5 hour wait in the lobby of a strange hotel was then at least done. All by all, bad-bad performance by Avis. Trainee all alone at a desk not knowing what to do. Manager lying and not backing up his employee. Customer experience worked ever. Formal complaint to Avis will be filed.2.0 Poor

Pick up a different story! We arrived at MCO airport at 10:35. I rented a car to be picked up at the airport. When I got to the agent she looked at my paperwork and informed me that the pick up was near Disneyland, about 25 miles North! I could not believe it. We took a cab costing us about $50 to a best western hotel that was also the incorrect after the driver left!! I walked 2 blocks to the correct address. The clerk was ok and she directed me to where the car was supposed to be. I searched for about a half hour with no luck. Note there was no Avis signs or any indication where the cars were hidden. I kept hitting the remote to lock the car to hear a beep where I might find it. After another 30 minutes I had my wife go to the clerk and ask for better directions. Finally after searching for over an hour I found it. Never again!!4.0 Mediocre

Staff was friendly and very helpful made adjustments to gas prices when he realized gas wasn’t on full. The location was perfect and easy being in hotel. The price through kayak for hertz was great for service and reliable car!Cons:
Short hours at this location got to the place at 5pm exactly when they closed and just missed the employee that works for hertz said the hotel receptionist. Thank god, Valet at this hotel was able to take the rental back, I had plane to catch. Just make sure to drop the car 15mins before closing.2.4 Poor

Nothing. The Hertz location was not at the airport. It was located 25 minutes away. That was useless because I was at the airport, and did not have a car to get to the other location. The Hertz employee at the airport could not have been any less helpful or any less concerned about my problem.Cons:

The system took my reservation for 5pm when the location closed at 5pm. I arrived at 5:03 and the reservation desk was closed and I was never called. I had to then go to another location where my wife made a reservation while I was taking an uber over and that location had not updated its inventoryCons:

I had wanted to book this at an airport but instead was given a car 20 minutes away from the airport. Because I had pre-paid I was not able to make any changes and we had to make significant alterations to our plans to pick=up the car. All locations in Central Florida were closed including the one we were to pick up the van on the scheduled day but the numerous people on the phone we talked with were nice but unable to help us or the other 2 families trying to pick up their rentals, Ended up renting at last minute with Enterprise.Cons:
To not have the pickup location scheduled on a day that it and all others in Central Florida were closed (July 4th). Temporarily stranded our family and 2 others trying to pick up rentals on their scheduled day. Why would a company schedule to pick up rentals when no pickup location was open. We tried multiple locations, one family even had to take an Uber twice since location was closed and they rented from Enterprise at Airport like we did as well. What a mess up it was.2.0 Poor

The staff at pickup was friendly and helpful. They took pictures of the car in front of me to show they were capturing the current condition (I don’t like it when it’s not done in front of you). The car was a nice car and ran with no issues.Cons:
First because the rental location was so far from the airport We ended up spending more on cab/shuttle rides than we saved on this deal. It wasn’t clear that it was so far away (it was located in a hotel a 15 min drive from the airport). I thought maybe it was like Vegas where it was a short shuttle ride away. In short don’t take car rental deals that are not a part of an airports car rental system.2.4 Poor

The customer service was dismal. Emails and phone calls provided no details on their non standard pick up time expectations (if you don’t show up at your exact pick up time, no one will be there to get you a car). Absolutely no concern for my resulting customer experience (The person who was supposed to be there never apologized or demonstrated any empathy when I reached her on the phone wondering how to get a car. She showed absolutely zero interest in helping solve the problem and instead repeatedly highlighted that she was at lunch. And she was abrasive and defensive when I asked simply to know when she would be back.) I ended up just leaving and using Uber/Lyft instead.2.0 Poor

They were completely out of cars. I was one of 5-6 people standing in the lobby who had the same issue. Despite reserving a car days in advance, I was told they ran out of cars at 8am that day. The facility was dirty and hard to find. Once getting there no one was at the counter, I had to call a number and talk to a guy who was not helpful at all. The company was Dollar Rent a Car, but all their signs said Thrifty. Terrible experience.One location in Windhover
