For a small airport it can get quite busy and the whole car rental business, but especially off-airport and late in the evening can easily eat 2 hours or your time. Metro station is 50 meters off the arrivals hall, easy to buy a pass, easy to get pretty much anywhere in the city, especially if combined with taxi/Bolt for the last mile. So do not rent a car if you want to save time and you don’t absolutely need it, cause it can be more hassle than it is worth.

Lisbon you do not need a car unless cisiti g the outskirts which are amazing and well worth it!! Surprise is off site of the airport and we had to uber as we could not find shuttle. Other well known rental companies are located in the airport. Do not get a manual!!! Many hills snd tight parking spaces.

We were very disappointed that some crucial information is not shared with the customers. We were not informed that every kilometre has an additional fee. We were renting a car just for one day and the overall price ended up being twice as much from what was promised on the day we picked up the car.

Cons:

At the pick up station they didn't check the car for damage. The place was dark and I didn't realize that it had a huge scratch. I had a hard time explaining the whole situation at the drop off location and had a lot of stress on my first vacation day due to that.

I waited 2 hours at the counter waiting for my turn to process my previously made reservation and pick up my car until I finally could not wait any longer (hungry, thirsty, and tired after a long flight) and had to call a relative to pick me up at the airport.

Cons:

More staff, better customer service, at least a waiting lounge with snacks and water. Or get out of the business and do something else.

Pros:

Staff was great. Difficult to find drop off, as the GPS sent me to a different place. After going around in a circle twice, finally just drove to the terminal and looked for a "rental car" sign. Suggest that all rented GPS have the proper drop off point in the future.

Cons:

The van advertised said it was big enough for 7 people and their luggage. The van at pickup was fine to seat 7 people, but had almost zero room for luggage. Had to go up a class, and it was nearly twice the price. Wish I had know this upfront.

Very poor customer service! I end up paying 300 Euro extra coverage with Surprise rental although I have already paid for full coverage when I booked with Kayak! They didn't accept any debt card or cash with my approval of credit card authorization, they asked to block 1600Euro on my card as a condition,! I have never seen this anywhere in Europe! I rent a car every year everywhere for the last 30 years ans i have never experienced such a complicated process! Therewas no variation of cars except a tiny fiat 500 which was too small for my family and I, although I have booked a medium size online! Also, Kayak online booking experience wasvery poor cause they end up witha double booking with enterprise car rental a d I lost all my down payment

Great experience overall and the team was very helpful. My only complaint maybe it did take some time to pickup the car once we were in the office (the shuttle came very quickly at airport so no issues getting to the office). Also the car was not ready so took a little longer to get ready, part of this could be we got there later than expected but still took a little bit of time. Drop-off was smooth and no issues with car. Overall though a good car and great value and very helpful

He staff members were competent and professional.

Cons:

The original car supplied was smaller than expected for the category. I had to upgrade to fit people/luggage and the upgrade cost was almost as much as the original rental. However, the upgrade was minimally larger and definitely not worth double the cost. That situation was/is infuriating.

Pick-up at Lisbon Airport was a nightmare. We spent about 3 hours waiting for our number to be called. Then the car description was incorrect and our luggage wasn’t going to fit. The car they wanted to upgrade us to was an extra $4,000 so we decided to cancel our reservation and go to another car rental company. Overall, it was a terrible experience.

The pickup directions were terrible. Info came from car rental app, so it’s hard to tell if it was Drive on Holidays fault or the rental car app that was the issue. They sent a pickup address that was at some residential Apartment complex. Tried calling but no one picked up. After some digging on the internet I found the closest pickup center near the airport in hopes it was the correct location. I was lucky that it was, because if you’re late they typically give your reserved car to the next person. I spent a bunch of money on two xl Ubers trying to find the pickup location… very ironic Once I finally got there, the service was fine and the process was smoother.

It comes that you are forced to spend extra half an hour to find the right guy and to get to the rental office (same exercise on the way back). Kayak did not inform me who I am getting the car rental with. When I arrived at the airport, I learnt that the "airport car rental pickup" was not at the airport but a shuttle ride away. This should have been communicated to be at the time of making the reservation. Unlike any of the other car rentals, Green Motion asked me for a very high security deposit of €2,400 for a 1 day rental. I had no option but to pay it because the booking for pre-paid. This was not a great experience and given that I had booked through Kayak, I should have been communicated this information at the time of making the reservation.

The pickup and drop off locations were incorrect and it caused us a €15 Uber ride and an hour and a half delay on our very tight time line. It made for a very stressful trip. I probably wouldn’t rent a car using this service again. The phone numbers we were given for help did not work and we had to guess the drop off location, and we made it 2 minutes before they left for the day! If we were people who were not as intelligent as ourselves we would have had to drop off the car the next day. VERY stressful experience to the start of our vacation. Additionally when we picked up the car they put us in the wrong car! And when I was driving away they came running out and had me come back and switch cars.

Make sure you take detailed photos and video of your car if you’re renting from here. They will charge you hundreds of euros for the smallest scratch or ding. I got charged 100 euro because one of the rims had a black mark on it, no joke.

It felt a bit like a scam charging me €100 for a small scratch on the hub cap which was probably not my doing. The guy was a bit too quick to catch it. Also have not received necessary documents for my insurance claim yet.

Cons:

Had booked an automatic SUV, but the agency only had two automatic mini compacts. The management just shrugged and didn't offer any discount or solutions. Told me to email customer service with a grievance. Very disappointed. Also added airport access fee that Kayak does not tell you about.

The pick up was one of the worst rental car pick up experiences that I have ever had - it was unclear, patience-testing, and lengthy. Finding the check in was challenging, the check in process was chaotic, and it took over an hour from the time that I arrived at rentals until we had our car.

They had way too many hidden charges that more than doubled the cost of rental. First, my car wasn't available, so I had to pay extra to upgrade. The gas tank was at 7/8 when I picked up the car, and when I returned at the same level, they charged 60 euro to refill 1/8 of tank. There's also a 36 euro charge on my credit card that I never got a receipt for. I will not rent from them again
