When we arrived to Alamo to pick up our reserves car, they informed us that they had no vehicles. Nor did any other Alamos in the city. Even thought they had my email and phone number, no attempt was made to tell me that there were no vehicles. We would have made other plans, but by then it ws 2 lat2.0 Poor

We missed our connecting flight from Mexico City to Oaxaca where we were suppose to pick up our car. We called that were going to be 6 hours late picking up car. Only to get there and the staff not being able hang on to a car for us. Never ended get car, none available for us.Cons:

Cons:
There was no one at the drop off location and no instructions of what to do in that situation. Alamo customer service was not helpful and kept me on hold for 20 minutes before I hung up. We had to catch a flight so just ended up parking in a lot and leaving the keys at the counter.Economy Rent a Car

Pros:
Despite our many problems (see below), the staff were relatively friendly and helpful. (For example, the manager provided us with his personal cell number when we called to express our concern that the engine light had gone on and we were afraid of breaking down on a remote road somewhere.)Cons:
Our problems were many. Kayak linked us to carrentals.com which announced on their website that the rental price included the liability insurance required by the Mexican government. However, there was nothing mentioning this on the confirmation documents that we received and Economy Rentacar told us that we needed to buy our own policy @ $18 US per day. (They did lower it to about $16 per day after we complained.) They told us that the car we rented was a 2019 model but the registration said it was a 2015 and it looked and ran like it was even older. It had not been cleaned in a very long time and was filthy inside. It had dents, scratches and peeling paint on almost every square inch, really a piece of junk. We have rented cars all over the world and this was by far our worst experience. A bad mark for Kayak and car rentals.com as well, we felt ripped off from beginning to end.8.0 Very Good

The price quoted on Kayak website is not accurate. The cost of about $5/day is really about $23/day because of required insurance, even though other websites covering car rental is Mexico say the insurance is required to be included in quoted prices. Note that they will put a $1500 hold on you credit card for possible car damage even if your credit card covers any damage to the car. Also note that what they call an intermediate car is really a compact. Otherwise interaction with car local company is good. Rental date April 2021.4.0 Mediocre

Stuff was good, thanks Marco for understanding, but when you return car 1:30 hours later, because its hard to predict traffic-jam in new city in festival day + serpentine 8 hours road before and rental ask you for additional day (but the day before in this great rental was NO cars, despite my booking was 1 month before and only 1 option from rental was - wait please 8 hours! 8 hours !!! ou, and even no appologies or of course compensation) So bad experience at all.Cons:

The original price. False, turns out you also have to purchase insurance on top of your insurance (don’t do it), an undisclosed deposit was required, vehicle wasn’t even there to rent even though I booked it weeks in advance, booked in advance and couldn’t get a refund, and if it says there’s an airport location think twice, because it was incorrect. Avoid this place!!!Cons:

I reserved a car months in advance at a good price. However, Europcar would not honour that price saying that CDW was compulsory. The first offer was $50 US per day which would have meant the total would be 4 times what I reserved. This input box isn't big enough to express my disgust.2.0 Poor

Europcar's car was not ready in Oaxaca, Mexico. They promised a car, but it did not show up. They then found a car from another agency that wound up being more expensive, a huge hassle to get, and had issues. I will never trust Europcar again.2.0 Poor

The car was functional enough for the trip.Cons:
The pick up was a mess. I game to pick up the car and was told a total different price and I got it down to around $340 when they told me it was going to be around $1100. Also Kayak told me a way lower price. The people took about 45mins to get my car as well. Very unprofessional. Lastly I was asked to leave $1400 as a deposit and was surprised because I was never told anything about that. I’m still figuring out to this day if they even returned my money to my account. Lastly, when I came to drop off the car, no one was available and I was close to kissing my flight cause of nobody expecting my car to be dropped off at the time I said. Very dissatisfied with the service and how things turned out. I honestly was stressed.2.0 Poor

Pros:
Staff was very rude and does not care about anything but money, I am a member of the U.S. armed forces and I was born in Oaxaca and this place does not represent Hertz at all. I’ve had better experience in other Hertz locations but this one only cares about money and how to weasel more out of you. I received a really scratched vehicle and was charged more than what I originally booked it for and was forced to sign a contract because I had no other choice since I had an ill family member.Cons:

The roads are death traps, third world country roads at its finest. Animals on the road to Puerto escondido from Oaxaca city, it was a terrifying experience, wouldn't recommend it to no one. PLEASE do not drive these roads, no reception, ambulance, or any kind of proper medical attention in case of an emergency. You have been warned.2.0 Poor
