FAQs - booking India flights

  • Which Indian airport should I choose as my destination?

Each major region in India is served by its own international airport, and there are four main airports to consider depending on which region you're visiting. The country's largest airport, New Delhi Indira Gandhi (DEL) is in the far north. If you want to visit southern India, book your ticket to Cochin International Airport (COK). Central India is mainly served by Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi Airport (HYD), while Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International is closest to India's western coastal resorts.

  • Can I reduce my carbon footprint when flying from Dublin to India?

You can use the filters on KAYAK to find the flights that emit the least CO2 on this route. KLM is really carbon-efficient: its flights create 55% less emissions than average. You'll make one stopover at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS). Air France is almost as good an alternative – their flights emit around 50% less CO2. They make two stops; first at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) and then at Schiphol. Both flights end in New Delhi and take around 26 hours.

  • How does KAYAK find such low prices on flights from Dublin to India?

KAYAK is a travel search engine. That means we look across the web to find the best prices we can find for our users. With over 2 billion flight queries processed yearly, we are able to display a variety of prices and options on flights from Dublin to India.

  • How does KAYAK's flight Price Forecast tool help me choose the right time to buy my flight ticket from Dublin to India?

KAYAK’s flight Price Forecast tool uses historical data to determine whether the price for a flight to India from Dublin is likely to change within 7 days, so travelers know whether to wait or book now.

  • What is the Hacker Fare option on flights from Dublin to India?

Hacker Fares allow you to combine one-way tickets in order to save you money over a traditional return ticket. You could then fly to India with an airline and back to Dublin with another airline.

  • What is KAYAK's "flexible dates" feature and why should I care when looking for a flight from Dublin to India?

Sometimes travel dates aren't set in stone. If your preferred travel dates have some wiggle room, flexible dates will show you all the options when flying to India from Dublin up to 3 days before/after your preferred dates. You can then pick the flights that suit you best.

  • As an Irish citizen, you'll need to organise a visa to visit India. You can obtain this physically from the Indian Embassy or by completing an application form on its website. All was good. Emirates should restart allowing fast track immigration for business class at Manchester airport. Saves a bit of time

All was good. Emirates should restart allowing fast track immigration for business class at Manchester airport. Saves a bit of time

Different rules going from Dubai to Ahmedabad vs going from Ahmedabad to Dubai Horrible, only 1 baggage was allowed to carry on and no personal bag, i had to put personal bag inside carry on

Emirates is always great experience, however, they should reopen their lounge in Istanbul. The IGA lounge is not worth it

Worst ever. No assistance and communication from Emirates crew. No visibility of when the flight is flying. Couldn’t understand if we can go to lounge to take rest. Emirates system at a certain point said flight is not operating and suggested to take the next flight and in few minutes it suddenly opened the gate for boarding. unsupportive and rude crew. Worst experience ever. Flight was delayed by 5 hours so need the compensation for that.

The experience was not as pleasant returning as leaving. Went through clearance twice, crew was not as customer focused.

Emirates flights always nice. Service rendered by the staff is superb.I am always comfortable in Emirates flights.

Overall emirates continues to amaze me with their. Awesome service . I had shifted away from emirates , because I lost luggage and watch in emirates in 2019 that drifted me away from this airline , but I am willing to give it try

The amenities offered in the Business class is far away less compared with other Air Companies. Emirates is going down in the competition pricing the same value as Qatar airways for example.

Overall experience was bad , one does not expect after travelling for 14 hrs in Boing 777-300 ER to be pushed in to a craft with a extermly poor seating pitch, no room for hand baggage in the luggege bins and extermly poor service quality. This patch made my overall expereince mediocre and would definetly look for better choices when flying in or out of Delhi in future.

Crew was not good and service was bad. Not happy

Don't be afraid if you board an Oman Air Airbus A330 - it will take you to Colombo and not Muskat. The Aircraft is leased by Qatar Airways ;-)

No towels or tissue and chocolate and mint provided before arrival

Just happy I flew Qatar Airways awesome no wonder they are #1 in the world right now! The food was just delicious, very courteous, professional crew.

Not good. Expected a lot more as far as excellence.

They made us deliberate waste time by holding our passports and boarding passes making us miss the flight

All over with Qatar airlines my experience was really bad due to delays and then putting me on different airlines and after 8 hours of wait I had to listen to their is no plane to fly for another 24 hours. Wore experience ever.

I had never seen any cabin crews behaving like that. They are not at all professionally fit for this job

Very very poor service. Authorities must take action against this airline immediately. Total failure to follow the rules and regulations of an international airline

It was the terrific, I was promoted to businessman class, and the service was amazing.

There was not enough staff during boarding which had created big problems . Another thing once you enter gate area there’s no way to use bathroom and you have to be in that area 2 hours before boarding which is too much.

Lovely crew - comfortable journey despite it being an older plane.

Overall mediocre experience. Check in was good. They're were discriminatory. They were not attentive, food choices were not vegetarian friendly. The food served was frozen.

It has been a couple of years since I flew with Etihad last, after having a unpleasant experience with them coming out of the pandemic. I can say that the experience has uplifted, but I can’t really rate the service. At Barcelona airport the service was great, with their dedicated Etihad staff very helpful. The onboard experience wasn’t great, not very personalised and it really makes sense why Etihad doesn’t feature in the top 10 2023 Skytrax awards. The crew just seemed to be inattentive and almost absent from the cabin. I felt that I had to keep getting their attention. Even after I’d finished my meal, an hour went by before I had to call them to clear the tray/plate etc.

Crew were very polite and quicker in service. Excellent cooling, comfortable seats and tasty food served

The staff was very nice and polite but it was very very hot and no ways to have some fresh air. It would be nice to have more time to sleep since it was a night flight

My wife and I were upgraded to Business Class on our Dublin-Abu-Dhabi flight on the 22nd of January. Being served by "Mariyan" (not too sure about her name, she's from Tunisia) was the real highlight of our flight, she deserves to be working with etihad. We are looking forward to the next upgrade as we are flying back to Dublin on February 01, 2024. If I am not mistaken we have just reached GOLD status as Etihad Guests.

Etihad broke my suitcase Also over charged me for luggage

Very unfriendly team. It was very difficult to get a cup of coffee. Legroom was extremely small. Old, dilapidated plane.

Ripped off and broken seats in Business class. Seats stink and need to request the staff for additional bedsheets. Crew if very friendly though

Food was very good. Again tray could use a non-skid mat. I had a regular seat - comfortable - able to sleep undisturbed. Boarding was uneventful.

Indigo attempts to make you pay for a seat during check in. I opted to not do this. The result - they allotted me and my minor son seats apart. In the interest of making maximum money, they seem to have lost common sense too. Similarly, even during the flight, the crew are busy trying to serve food to those who’ve already paid for it. By the time they’re done, it’s time to land and no one else is able to get anything. Sadly this seems to be what makes them profitable, customers just need to bear with it till a better airline comes along.

As usual invariably delayed Lots of time in getting chkd in baggage

Staff needs to be trained in managing customers better. Indigo appears to be a low cost airlines in all aspects.

Flight was delayed and also lots of mosquitoes on the flight

Two times the gate was changed and flight got delayed

INDIGO Never On Time & Always Prefer to Shuttle Passengers Like shuttle Corks

I did not like the communication gap existing amongst the staff and the customer. My flight to Nagpur was delayed by two and half hours but it was informed to me on email ( not by W.A. or SMS) when I have already left my home in Baner area. I was painfully detained at airport with luggage when the gate no. 10 was changed to 5. I'll never recommend your flight to anybody.

Seats don't recline, no charging points. New aircraft and very clean. Crew should serve some water atleast.

Wife and I were seated in separate seats across the aisle

There was inordinate delay without any plausible reason. This has become a normal feature of Indigo now a days.

The food could have been better, but that is secondary. I felt safe.

Lost bag on an hour and a half flight with no connections - ridiculous!

I like the space, but if I had a window seat would be a lot more comort .

Leg space was not enough. The meal was not satisfactory.

Charged an extra 65 pounds for overweight suitcase, Not told how much overweight but had no choice but to pay the price. Compare to Delta Airlines where I flew internationally a few days before with this suitcase and no extra charge by Delta. Comfort was horrible. I am just under 6 feet tall, and good that the flight was only 1 1/2 hours, because my knees were in the seat back in front of me the whole flight. I felt that my knees were part way up to my chest. No reason to have the seats that close. I will say to the positive was the flight crew, very friendly and efficient.

Excellent. Very nice and comfortable business class. Only negative is that it was difficult to hear the pilot’s announcement.

my original flight was cancelled the previous day, and i was rescheduled onto this flight, which left much earlier in the morning, impacting my previous evening and requiring me to get up much earlier in the morning to get to the airport online. This practice happens way way way too much, and it seems on every airline, though AA is probably the worst.

Check in was horrendous! Economy took 2 hours before seeing an agent. Business class was 0.5 - 1 hour.

The flight was good the crew excellent…but take off delayed three hours!!!

Annoying customer pushing my seat did not make this pleasant.
