Fantastic hotel! Huge, bright, nice and clean rooms, big hotel, a lot of space everywhere, great selection of restaurants, very good spa massage. I stayed in Club Premier Room, and didn't want to leave. It was like a full on one bed appartment. Very beautiful, modern, smart room with a lot of space! Would certainly come back!

I wish the hotel accepted foreign visa debit cards. Would also be nice if breakfast had a bit of variety.

Lovely Breakfast with many options and super comfortable beds. Great for traveling with a friend or family member in a twin room as the bathroom was very private.

We waited a little long to check in but did arrive at a busy time.

I absolutely love Intercontinental in Jing'an. When I first checked in, one of the front desk managers helped me and she was absolutely professional in providing a great customer service and ensured that my stay was provided with utmost care. Although the location of the hotel is not in the central, it is directly across from Shanghai Railway Station which is the main station for subway transportation in town. Tip: If you can, try to use the railway station during the evening as the streets are completely jammed during rush hour. (It's extremely cheap!) The atmosphere of the hotel was great especially during the winter season they had full decorations of Christmas and New Years style which enhance the ambience of the hotel. The room was fairly large and they are extremely clean. Housekeeping does a great job at cleaning the rooms everyday as they replace towels, drinks, and clean the entire bathroom.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic. Excellent location near the Shanghai Railway Station. The room was very clean and spacious. The service was great, as well. You can't go wrong with this one...!

All the staff I spoke with were helpful and friendly and they spoke fluent English.

There isn't a whole lot to do around the hotel so you tend to be 'stuck' inside...nowhere really to walk in the evening etc

The hotel location is perfect close to the cbd and the hotel is very nice

The ventilation of my room was not very nice. I felt not too comfortable especially at night. Need to turn the temperature very low to make myself feeling better.

Beautifully presented and located close to the Shanghai Metro.

Lovely new hotel. Great spacious room and bathroom. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Many restaurants and bars around it. Opposite Shanghai Railway station so its convenient for people travelling. Note that Jing'an is a taxi/subway ride away.

The breakfast was fantastic, good spread of western and Chinese food. The tea and coffee however was average as it was not hot enough and they did not provide you with milk, you had to fetch your own. The room was amazing, so comfortable and the beds were very soft. The view from our room was also great, looking out onto the railway station. The fitness center is also great, all the equipment you need and they provide you with bottles of water

Hotel in a good location (wehre you have baker and spice close is always worth it and no need to include breakfast. Rooms are big, clean, pretty new and super comfortable. A real 4 stars hotel even better than average. Value for money in city such as Shanghai is everything.

After Guangzhou, we had a pleasure stay for 4 nights on a summer vacation to Shanghai. I was upgraded to a larger room on the high floor of the hotel. Our room was fantastic - the bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The room was amazingly appointed and the city view absolutely spectacular. We loved the coloured mood lights. We found all staff to be very helpful. The pool was clean and nice to swim full laps and then unwind in the Jacuzzi and steam room. Hotel gym was great, with a range of free weights, squat racks, olympic bars, weight machines and cardio equipment. Its about a 10 to 15 minute walk to Hanzhong Road Metro. Hotel concierge will also arrange all your transport needs. I would highly recommend Intercontinental Jing-An in Shanghai, whether you are in Shanghai for business or pleasure and it will be my first pick of place to stay when I return.

Everything was great even exceptional, very nice and helpfull staffs, nice facilities, great room and service, beatiful view and luxurious looking. What showed warm hospitallity was the support and help from the staff; in our arrival day, the taxi driver took an unfair 750 RMB fare instead of 200 RMB from Podung airport, and the hotel staffs helped us to take the extra money back immediately by calling their agency.

It's all nice but a bit pricey, the only thing is the breakfast which is great if you like to try Chinese breakfast but it's not very international, meantime I should say I don't think one could find a better one in China.

The bathroom is japanese flush toilet which i havent seen in other a few 5-star hotels in shanghai, very friendly facilities and service, overall is amazing experience

Trust worthily housekeeping staff. I left an expensive watch on the night stand and went out for sight seeing. Upon my return the watch was at the same place, untouched. Bravo! Also Rick at the front office was very helpful when my wife and I were checking in.

Great location, a quieter option as oppose to the popular and buzzy People's Park area. The room and bathroom are spacious, bed is extremely comfortable with clean sheets. Hotel guests are mostly adults, only saw children under the age of 12 probably once during our 5-day stay. Appreciate that the staff are very friendly and flexible.

Room were big and very comfortable. The bed was just amazing, you didnt want to get out anymore :D The staff were nice, especially at the door. The pool is big, but a bit cold for winter. I like they also had a whirlpool and sauna.

We stayed in a club room. We loved the room itself. Very luxurious and great view as on high floor. The hotel itself is beautiful and spotless . very comfy bed. Great TV with lots of free films. TV in the bathroom mirror ! The club lounge is good and food and drink plentiful. We paid for breakfast without realising there was a continental breakfast as part of the club rate. Next time we will probably just use that as I suspect it will be good. The main breakfast is also excellent. Ive never seen so many options - western and eastern, and ive stayed in quite a few hotels in China. We didn't think we would like the location as we usually stay at peoples square but it was good! Very handy to leave our bags on the last day as it means when you collect them you can just walk over to the train station, or go one metro stop. Walking is easier. All in all an excellent stay and will definitely pick intercontinental again. Pool also good, steam room and sauna I didn't try but looked good. Gym has lots of equipment. Hotel restaurants all looked excellent and good range of food available 24/7. Also a baker and spice, waga and starbucks on the doorstep if you fancy a cheaper lunch (although good prices in hotel v good considering it is 5 star. Only exception being coffee (58rmb!) - but as club member you get unlimited coffee tea and perhaps soft drinks in the club lounge ). Also club do afternoon tea and evening cocktails and snacks. Definitely worth paying the extra if you intend being in the hotel. Maybe not so worth it if you intend being out and about

The sauna was fantastic.

The breakfast was a little disappointing. In particular the oatmeal. On our second day we were lead to a dirty table. It took the waitress four attempts to clean in properly. The first attempt was half hearted and the true for the next three until it was actually cleaned and set.

The breakfast could have had a greater variety within fruits and cold cuts (they had not any “normal” cheeses like havarti or Gouda). The egg bar did not work properly, it took almost 15 minutes to ...

Centrally located downtown right opposite the main railway station. Good rooms, courteous staff, did late check out.
