Situated on Balis southern peninsula on a hillside overlooking the Indian Ocean and Nusa Dua Amanusa (peaceful isle) is just 20 minutes from Denpasar Airport. Amanusas colonnaded open-air entrance hall is lined with baskets of white tuberoses. Framing the marble-floored foyer is a large teak-wood sculpture illustrating scenes from the Ramayana the epic Hindu poem. Amanusas 35 thatched-roof suites enjoy a sensuous tropical setting and consummate privacy. Walkways connect the suites to guest facilities and offer easy access to the neighbouring golf course and the Beach Club located ten minutes away on the coast. The resort has 35 thatched-roof suites linked by paved walkways and set behind foliage and mossy paras stone walls for added privacy. All suites have four-poster beds and round tables for private dining a sunken indoor bath outdoor shower a garden courtyard and a terrace with a spacious canopied day bed. Each villa at Amanusa is located on approximately 4000 square metres of land and offers four or more bedrooms and a private swimming pool. Whilst the structures that make up each villa compound are identical the villas are differentiated by the positioning of the buildings to embrace views respect natural terrain and vegetation and to protect the privacy of the villa. Typically arrival to each villa is via a forecourt that contains a double garage and a vestibule that opens to the villa landscape. There is a central two-story structure that provides two guest bedrooms on the lower level separated by a gallery and a staircase leading to an upper level. Here one finds a lounging and dining area with beautiful open views on either side of the central stairs that lead down to the swimming area. A generously-proportioned swimming pool lies at the heart of each Aman Villa surrounded by a terrace with sunbeds. Leading onto the pool terrace is a guest bathroom and shower and beyond in the garden is a large open-air dining pavilion which can accommodate up to 10 diners. Rounding out the central facilities is an air-conditioned library which provides lounging and home theatre opportunities. Walkways through the landscaped gardens link the main facilities to the other guest bedrooms as well as the master suite. The master suite is larger than the guest bedrooms and offers a lounging area as well as an expansive terrace. All the bedrooms feature spacious en suite bathrooms and a number also offer outdoor bathtubs and showers. Completing each Aman Villa is the service building which houses the kitchen laundry and staff accommodation. The Bar is situated opposite the Terrace and enjoys the same lofty views of the sea and peninsula. This venue offers casual dining throughout the day as well as afternoon tea and is the ideal location for enjoying a sunset drink. Amanusas Beach Club is located on the beachfront of the Bali National Golf Resort. The Club consists of nine beach bales each with two sunloungers. Refreshments and light meals are served in the informal restaurant while showers and washrooms are also provided. The white-sand beach is one of Balis best and is fringed by a coral reef that provides a safe lagoon for swimming and seasonal water sports. The Beach Club is also the setting for candlelit barbecues and sunrise breakfasts can be enjoyed in the privacy of the bales. The large 30-metre pool is bordered by a bougainvillea-covered trellis and a high paras-stone wall on three sides. The Terrace restaurant and The Bar overlook the pool from the right and left sides while The Italian Restaurant is situated in a secluded spot behind the pool its entrance courtyard framed by flowering frangipani trees.
