Roach Motel
Pros: Conveniently located on the beach and a short distance to Surfside Beach, Murrells Inlet, and the areas we were interested in visiting.
Cons: Dark, dank outdated room with roaches in the bathroom. And if they were in the bathroom they were probably everywhere but thankfully they were only seen in the bathroom.
LOUD fights, yelling, doors slamming, waking you in the middle of the night.
South end of "the Boulevard" isn't the nicest area.
Beach front hotel
Pros: This hotel was located right by the beach. Great view from the 4th floor balcony. The staff was friendly and helpful. Minutes from a lot of local attractions.
Cons: Dated rooms and facility. Small and uncomfortable beds. No elevators. We had to ask for fresh towels and to have our trash can emptied. I don't think that the House Keeping staff ever came into to the room to clean, make the beds, or re-supply the towels and other items. Dirty stairwells. Found a complimentary Corn Nut on the floor when we first entered the room (proof that it was not properly cleaned.) Trash sat on the 3rd floor stairwell for two days and a dead roach was there for our entire stay.
