Exceptional
The congierge and staff are all super professional and kind . The hotel is like that from a novel, the most charming and romantic hotel in Lisbon especially after dark. It feels like a home rather than a stuffy hotel and therefore I’ll definitely return next year.
Really relaxing, indulgent, a treat.
It was just such a relaxing stay. Everywhere clean, lovely pool, attentive and friendly staff. The area is very quiet but nothing is more than 15 minutes away by cab.
Possibly a more lively area - but nice to be quiet as well.
Babymoon
I’m writing this in my hubby’s account. He booked this amazing place for my birthday in May but due to COVID-19 we changed it to July... so we took it as our baby moon and it was great! The facilities, personal, service, cleaning and FOOD!!!! Oh delicious food and amazing virgin cocktails for this preggo lady to enjoy. This was a great last stop during our summer in Portugal, we will be back for sure!
The best hotel in portugal
we have stayed at this hotel before it is first class and there is nothing that the staff will not do for yu
The days were too short
Perfect stay in Lisbon
Everything was perfect: the breakfast, the pool, the room service... Classy hotel and friendly staff. Breathtaking views on the river from the 6th floor.
/
Everything ! The food and the service were exceptional. I loved the location and the views from my room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely, I will come back.

Outstanding place to stay in...
Everything.
Nice view to the river from the balcony and excellent service
The price per night was higher than confirmed in writting by hotel and booking.com. Need to start ”fighting” to get the difference credited. Seems like hotel does not care, so I turn to booking.com now Bit wornout place and shower not meeting the 5 star standards anymore.

The beauty and well up keep of the hotel.
The staff were very friendly and although the decor is a little dated it has been immaculately looked after. The gardens and pool are splendid - it is an oasis just a small distance from the center of Lisbon. We used Uber a lot to get around and it is very good and cheap in Lisbon - even to go out to Sintra. The spa facilities were small but nice, with a decent indoor pool, steam room and sauna’s.
In Q1 the hotel is very quiet - it is in the off-season, apparently from May - December it is busy.
The hotel is in an excellent location and all the staff were extremely pleasant. The food at breakfast and the range and choice is superb but one does find one's self constantly interrupted by staff who are cleaning plates as you are taking your last mouthful. The indoor pool area is small but adequate. The steam bath and sauna are small but fit for purpose. The gymnasium is reasonably well kitted out. The shiatsu massage in the Wellness Centre is one of the best that I have had. The rooms are fine and the bathroom is of a good size. The views from the hotel to the Tagus are beautiful. The gardens are well-tended. I would return against if on business in Lisbon.
Because the property is 5* graded and listed in "The Leading Hotels of the World" one is obliged to pick out the smallest items for consideration. As follows: 1. Ashtrays in the Smoking Room are not regularly attended to 2. Ashtray on the room balcony is not emptied on a daily basis 3. The room safe is too small for a 5* property 4. The complimentary water bottles should be placed in the fridge and not in full sunlight on the room desk 5. The in-room fruit basket contained spoiled fruit on consecutive days and was not removed until it was pointed out 6. The bar service ceases at 1730 on certain days with no alternatives 7. The reception area is freezing cold and if one is working during early morning or late evening the open doors adversely affect the temperature no matter where one sits in 8. Soundproofing in rooms needs significant improvement, standard chat and noise from the neighbouring room was clearly and annoyingly audible at all times 9. The noise from the piano bar is clearly audible in the room even some distance from the piano bar and late into the night 10. There is a consistent noise of rave music on the docks clearly audible in the room 11. There is congestion at the entrance to the property for both cars and arrival in taxis 12. The flagstone steps around the pool area are very poorly designed and dangerous 13. The room service menu is somewhat limited
Service, amenities, food, whole palace.

Friendly, efficient staff and a beautiful hotel. Nothing to fault our stay. Would definitely return!
Friendly, efficient staff and a beautiful hotel. Nothing to fault our stay. Would definitely return!
A most beautifully appointed hotel of great charm. Understated elegance. Our 4th visit and we hope not our last. The staff could not have been more helpful and pleasant. Run by gentle, kindly people. Excellent breakfast and highest standards of cleanliness. Not at all the type of brash establishment one might expect to find under the banner of one of the big international (USA) chains.
Nothing to dislike.
Old fashioned grandeur
Could do with a major refurbishment. Bed linen so so and no turn down service
Great spa Had a couples massage on arrival
View was excellent Restaurant was very good Staff were very helpful , especially concierge Room was quiet
Buffet : anything outside of the buffet takes a long time and is not consistent. Bathroom "his and hers" sinks were much too confined - set between a pillar and the wall. TV (pop up) was too small and inconvenient Housekeeping was inconsistent : half the time no face towels, coffee & milk not necessarily replaced Being told they would not give an iron to the room due to Fire Safety was absurd.
Exceeded every expectation ,....lovely !
Incredible service, facilities very well and clean.
Even the hotel is a bit old, everything works perfectly and clean
peace and quiet
too far way from the centre
This was a delightful hotel ! Lovely room with a balcony, beautiful gardens with pool, delightful staff and great breakfast ! Thoroughly recommend
Nothing
Cant say enough about the staff. Breakfast was delishes and abundant. And the room was perfectly devine
Unsurpast elligance....definition of PERFECTIO!!
Our room was a bit noisy due to a fountain right behind our wall. Also the stairs used by the staff were right there too. Any time of day or night, tic tic tic... Apart from this, great hotel, good location and amazing pool
The size of the room and the luxury feel to the hotel
The bar and food prices
Would have liked to check in earlier because of a long flight
Tremendous friendliness, kindness, and support of the staff.
Location 10-15 min walk to downtown. Hotel facilities are gorgeous! Pool and spa area wonderful. Staff extremely helpful Beautiful hotel ! Great breakfast
Nothing !
Exceptionally friendly staff, and a warm welcoming atmosphere despite the grandeur of the building. Excellent food available, in bars and restaurant. Large comfortable room, quiet air conditioning, enormous bed. Loved the district, the lack of traffic, the beautiful grounds of the hotel.
No criticisms come to mind
Beautiful old palace converted to a stunning 5star hotel in a quiet part of Lisbon. Lovely large bedroom with a wonderful bathroom. Excellent outdoor pool in a lovely garden. Good gym. But expensive.
Very comfortable hotel, lovely staff, good food
We didn’t like the location. Everything down very steep hills.
Everything
Ambience. Beds and linen. Special
Slightly awkward location
This luxurious hotel is an extension of an early 20th century palazzio set in lovely gardens with an infinity pool, and within, has an atmospheric bar with a fine pianist from Mozambique (Oscar) and a fine dining restaurant and spa with pool. There are huge terraces with fine views. The room was very spacious and well-furnished, with a balcony overlooking the gardens and a small stream. The area is the embassy area not far from Alfama, and much quieter. There is a good Fado bar nearby, and an art museum in walking distance through picturesque streets. Breakfast was on a terrace and of excellent quality. A light supper in the bar and lunch at the pool was enjoyed too.
Everything was lovely.
Beautiful palace nested inside lush gardens. Walking distance to the seaside promenade. Quite neighborhood in residential area. First class restaurant and spa onside. We loved it! Ps. Family friendly which is not common in 5star hotels;)
Concierge Hugo is great!
No Iron or Steamer.
The concierge staff were phenomenal couldn’t do enough to advise and help, Breakfast staffwere courteous smiling and friendly BUT on leaving when we mentioned to the front desk it was unusual we didn’t receive an acknowledgement from the Manager by way of fruit or a welcome note we were told it was we didn’t book through them but on the internet with booking.,com yet we have travelled for many years and stayed in equal class of hotels and always received a welcome note of such plus have used this median of booking since our travel agents retired.
Brilliant place to relax and enjoy free time
Everything was good and excellent
Excellent hotel beautiful and service was impeccable
This property was very beautiful. It was an elegantly appointed hotel but with no airs of arrogance. The staff was wonderful, the room just perfect, large and beautifully appointed and the morning breakfast was excellent. We loved everything about this hotel and look forward to returning.
There are no complaints
My 2nd visit to this lovely hotel. Relaxing in the beautiful garden and pool area. So peaceful!! Attentive and very friendly staff. Food excellent. Bedrooms very spacious and very clean! The location is within easy walking or short taxi ride to everywhere.
I would of like tea/coffee or kettle in the bedroom?
Breakfast was fantastic - everything in This Wonderful Paradise was just marvelous and my wife and I Will come back to enjoy This terrific Laba Palace every Year or even several times yearly . We Can warmly recommend This Hotel to all who just want to relax in a Calm and lovely atmosphere in beatiful surroundings - and then so close to the central part of Lissabon . Ellen and Hans Hasselbalch Copenhagen , Denmark
Everything perfect
Great service. Everything ran smoothly
It was an oasis of cool and calm in the bustling city of Lisbon. Large marble hallway as you enter. Our room was lovely-overlooking the gardens and outdoor pool. Beautifully kept outdoor area. The spa was good-lovely massage and indoor pool was nice (but small!). Very relaxing. Staff delightful and so friendly-couldn’t have been more helpful. Getting around Lisbon is amazing-fantastic UBERS, Limeride scooters and bikes, trams, everything so easy. We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely stay here again.
Nothing
Very good choice for breakfast. Enjoyed the pianist in the lounge bar. Swimming pool area was closed as it was being revamped but should be finished soon.
It was a steep walk down to the waterfront so we had to take taxis when we went out.
View good ,staff good, breakfast good
They bent over backwards to make us happy
Very nice quiet and clean area at Lisabon. Nice garden, pool, view. Great staff, very good breakfast. We were very satisfied with hotel. Clean spa, a little bit smaller but we spend all day at the city.
Rooms are clean and nice garden view.
Staff members in front desk and concierge are not polite nor friendly at all. Try to advice you for expensive tour options.
The staff where excellent and the cleaness of the rooms plus the effectivness and prompt service
The yard infront of the hotel is too small they shoud utilize the little garden adjacet so more parking space is available My room is excellent but it has not tv
very good hotel and staff.Unfortunataly, taxis on strike
not much to dislike
Fantastic breakfast - birthday cake surprise to the room. Very friendly staff. Excellent airport shuttle with a brand new Mercedes
Nothing to compain about :-)
Hotel is not too big & very peaceful atmosphere - not modern American style!- & all staff are very friendly & helpful. Staff makes warm welcome which is very important! Also they are very efficient. NOT a few staff, all of them are remarkably high standard & warm, helpful!! We travel worldwide every year & found best service - high standard - hotel we thought . We love Alvear Palace hotel, Mandarin oriental, oberoi but Lapa palac is the best we thought!
Not dislike but a little comment! Main dinning room Lapa restaurant's food is very good & staff are helpful but sad atmosphere . A. Not enough customer B, atomosphre is not welcoming. A bit too formal for these days! And door is closed! The bar is fun & full of people.
Excellent hotel with excellent staff and service Highly recommend it
The location is not central but taxis are cheap in Lisbon The hotel’s pool restaurant is overpriced
Beautiful grounds and wonderfully large swimming pool. Even though you are in central Lisbon, you feel like you are in a garden oasis. Staff at pool bar are super nice.
Property feels dated. Rooms are older and even the bed linens are old style. Prices for mini bar are very high and food at the property is very expensive.
The staff couldn’t do enough for us, always very friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean, quiet and relaxed. Big choice of lovely food for breakfast. Located in a quiet part of town, but not far to find other places to eat/drink in the evening and taxis not expensive.
The prices for food and drink are a little steep, but the quality is good
Excellent hotel. Great building, great staff and whilst in the middle of the city it was an oasis of calm.
The hotel is very well located. Quite and easy ride into town. Comfortable room and decent facilities.
Overall hotel is quaint but a little tired - wouldn’t rate as international 5 star. Both swimming pools closed for some reason during our stay which was a shame.
The room had a good space with a terrace and very nice view. All staffs were very professional and excellent.
There was not a hand-shower with bath tub. The toillet in the separate room is better. There was not a hair brush. The price in the restaurant seemed too high.

We had a lovely stay at Lapa Palace. Our room was excellent, it had a lovely balcony with a great pool/river view. Breakfast was very good and we spent a couple of relaxing days by the pool.

I liked especially the delightful and professional staff who clearly enjoy dealing with guests, the delicious breakfast, very comfortable bed and I was impressed by the hotel's attention to detail...
There was nothing to be critical of except the rain.......
I have known this hotel for more years than you have lived on earth, so please leave me alone and don't take up my precious time. I will book directly next time.

The air conditioning in our room smelled very bad. It was never cleaned. On our return home we both got sick of lung infection. Our doctor suspended it was caused by bacteria living in A/C.

Cost of drinks etc, coffee espressos best bet! — no coffee facilities in room.
Luxury and an outstanding level of service. Complimentary valet parking. Enjoyed New Year's Eve dinner in the restaurant, excellent food and wine
Bit difficult to find by car. Breakfast service was a bit hectic but I guess all the revellers wanted new year's Day breakfast quite late in the morning
It was just a perfect bit of luxury and service was fantastic
The soundproofing in rooms.
