Wonderfully quiet country setting yet close to Guimaraes. Old world ambience. Very comfortable beds and modern bathroom. Very welcoming old Jack Russell dog!
Staff were a little hard to find but largely not needed.

This hotel is like a historical palace, going back to the 'hacienda' style of the early 20th century. The family still lives in a part of the building, but you hardly notice. Our room was next to a beautiful long veranda, which I have only seen in the movies (hammock included). Beyond it lies a little bit overgrown garden with a lawn and a small pool (water was too cold to swim in June). The four-poster bed and the rest of the furniture were unforgettable!
