Pros: This is an excellent B&B! The house and its decoration have been done with care. The hosts really now how to run a B&B. The freshly prepared home made breakfast was breathtaking. But on top the entertaining friendly hosts were extraordinary. In the afternoon you get a drink and home made little things to eat. And this in a protected Veranda. I would recommend this place any time! The hosts facilitate a lot of interaction between the guests so you become part of a nice international and national group. Galena is a very nice historical place with good food .

The ice machine and free bottled water, coffee and homemade chocolate chip cookies were nice added amenities as well!

8.3 Excellent
Cons: Could keep maintenance up. Railing rusty.for.qhat you pay. Resorts down south are ALWAYS kept up.
4.5 Okay
Pros: The resort offered many activities on site.
Cons: We stayed at a villa located on the resort property. It appeared nobody had stayed at the villa for awhile and the room was not freshened up. It was musty and very dusty. There were cobwebs on top of the lamps and nobody had run a vacuum before or during our stay. Also there were several spiders and ants in the room. Also, we were charged an extra 20.00 a day to use the resort amenities which included a shuttle. When we asked to use the shuttle we were told we needed to give a half hour notice. I never saw the shuttle being used. They seemed to deter people from using it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Hard to say. I was there only for 2 days

Cons: Having to leave
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Scenic view from restaurant & and food was good.

5.8 Okay
Cons: 2 bedrooms...in the extra bedroom, I could not take a shower...bath water flowed, but couldn’t flip on shower ( have been in 100’s of hotel rooms and never had this issue). Instructions may have been beneficial or perhaps it’s too old to work???
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Maranda at checkin was so very helpful with a very expensive situation we we were having while checking in so appreciated her concern and help with the matter and outcome to the situation. 9.3 Excellent
Pros: Overall, hotel was wonderful! Front desk employee was great, the rooms were clean and cozy, and I want to stay again soon!
Cons: The water had a horrible smell but was tolerable. And no vending or food available, just some candy available for purchase behind front desk.
6.3 Good
Cons: location and view from the apartment that I booked months in advance They didn't seem to care about my concern/dissatisfaction An oh well It seems that the Wyndham part of the property is less important than the World Mark Not sure I understood the set up No services or amenities provided so not worth the expense
1.0 Poor
Pros: Very disappointed with this hotel and the experience that we had overall not what we expected in the way it was handled they would not accommodate us and all they kept saying was if we would've been members they would've been able to take care of us.
Cons: The bathtub was dirty we brought it up to their attention and they just did not care
9.3 Excellent
Cons: Everything close so early
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All the amenities. The kitchen was fully stocked. Rooms were clean and spacious. Loved the whirlpool and fireplace
Cons: The hallways and pool ceilings need some tlc
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything but the water smell
Cons: The water had a smell
1.0 Poor
Pros: Location was good and the staff somewhat pleasant. The size of the room was awesome, well equiped with utensils, plates, silverware, etc. Didn't know we had to pay $100.00 deposit at check-in and then it was an additional $30.00 for taxes!
Cons: We were on the bottom floor and the level above us the floors squeezed all night with people moving around. Didn't get much sleep the two nights we were there. The mattress was so hard it was like sleeping on the floor!
7.5 Good
Pros: It was nice, clean and comfortable and close to town
Cons: We arrived about 8:30 pm, coming from the south side of Chicago, we were disappointed that it wasn’t better lit at night, we actually passed it up.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: WiFi was free and it always should be
6.3 Good
Pros: The jetted whirlpool tub was a nice feature to use for my pregnant wife, rather than having to go to public hot tub. The bed was more comfortable than expected for being a Murphy bed.
Cons: Our first room had a strong odor of cooked bacon. We didn't think much of it (who doesnt like bacon, right?) so we opened the patio door and turned on all fans expecting it to clear out and went out to dinner. Came back a few hrs later and it was still pungent and we could smell it on our belongings. I told the front desk and she handed me a bottle of air freshener to go spray the room, which I felt was unprofessional. I didn't say anything and complied with her suggestion. The result was a mixture smell of bacon and the freshener and now worse than before. My 34 week pregnant wife began to feel nauseous. So back I went to the front desk to discuss it. The lady mentioned this happens a lot and the smell is hard to get out of the studios when people cook, and she wasn't sure why people even cook at all. I thought to myself they cook because you guys offer a stove top oven and multiple cooking utensils to use along with ingredients?? She did give us a new room, so we packed our stuff and moved up 1 floor. This room did not smell and met our expectations so that did cheer me up, but having to deal with that was not how I wanted to start my vacation. Why not improve the ventilation system if it's an ongoing problem? Also, who ever cleaned that room thought it was satisfactory enough for a guest with that pungent odor? Last thing I wanted to mention was the layout of the room. I would assume you guys know you can see straight through the dual-sided fireplace into the bathroom? Who the hell designed that room and decided it was ok for whoever's sitting in the living area to see people getting into shower or sitting on the toilet??? It was fine for me and my wife because we have seen everything, but if you had guests or kids? Very strange. Anyways, I rarely write these reviews so I hope someone reads it and takes it seriously. We are not very picky people, and it was a letdown.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious apartment perfect for a couples getaway or a small family!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Jetted tub but it’s well water which I didn’t know. Bring lots of bath bombs for the smell

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was spacious and nicely updated. Bathroom was clean, clean, clean, just the way I like it.
Cons: Pillows were not comfy. Room had a little bit of an odor (possibly a former smoking room?), door had to be pulled extra hard to lock. We didn't realize this until 3rd day there.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Awesome bed and deck overlooking the woods.
Cons: The TV was stationary. We could not turn it to watch comfortably from chair area. Sink in bathroom far too small for two people.
7.0 Good
Pros: The breakfast was good. The property needs an elevator and new carpet in the hallways. Otherwise it was a nice place and I would return again.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The people at the reception desk were very helpful, friendly. The hotel room was very clean as was the bathroom. It was nice to have a swimming pool and jacuzzi downstairs. I liked the fact that they honored my request to have my room on the main floor and close to the desk because of my mom's disability. It's a good deal considering that there were nice amenities including breakfast.
Cons: The pool was lukewarm especially on a hot August day. I would have liked it if they had bath soap and hand soap available instead of a tiny bar soap.

Pros: Beautiful location, huge room, and pool! Love the remodel. Good breakfast, great staff! Only complaint was the noise from the neighboring room at 6:30 am. Seems like they should have had the adjoining room, and we should have been across the hall.

Pros: The views were great from the property.
Cons: The rooms were very outdated and the bathroom had a stand alone sink with no counter space. We raised the temperature on the heater/ac unit and it started smoking and set off the smoke detector. The room was overpriced.

Pros: The scenery was great.
Cons: The room was not the cleanest. There was a Dorito on the floor by one of the beds. We did not eat Doritos. The shower was hard to figure out. We had to leave the room to find a worker to help us get the shower going because we called the front desk 3 times and did not get an answer.

Overview Reviews
Located in Galena, Galena Log Cabin Getaway is in a rural location, a 4-minute drive from Casper Bluff Land and Water Reserve and 6 minutes from Horseshoe Mound.
3.4 Mediocre
Cons: The area was dreary to say the least but this was probably due to the time of year. I did not stay in the small cabin due to a snow storm coming in and not wanting to get stuck in the tiny cabin. The pictures made it look bigger and nicer then it actually is.
