Pros: Last 2 times in SD, went to the pickup lot for the car and the wrong car was there and the 2nd time no car at all in the numbered space. Had to schlep all my bags back to the counter each time to resolve. Won't be using Hertz again!

Cons: The reservation did not make clear that the car rental location was a Marriott hotel versus the airport location in San Diego. The Agent at Hertz told me this happens all the time.
Since I ended up renting from the Airport rental location it cost $45 more than quoted. Ouch!

OK, not great.
Pros: OK, standard rental. Reasonably priced but with some problems.
Cons: The car was not very clean, no Bluetooth connection, only half of tank of gas came with the car. It's more difficult to manage than a full tank. And, there was this annoying Hertz navigation system staring at me that was impossible to turn off. In the age of much smarter smartphone maps apps, this is obsolete technology. And, one of the key fobs was dead.

I got screwed
Cons: I made a reservation and paid ahead but when i showed up Hertz said my reservation was for pickup at Marriott Hotel rather than at the airport rental car center even though my confirmation reservation from Kayak had both pickup and dropoff at the airport. Because of that I had to re-rent a car at the walk-in rate and get new insurance to cover the new reservation (Hertz did not honor my original reservation or my original rate I paid). My original reservation plus insurance I made at Hertz through Kayak was $113. I ended up paying that plus $363.09 for the walkin reservation just so I could get a car. I will not rent a car from Hertz or through Kayak again because I got screwed

Cons: I originally reserved an economy car for pickup at 5pm on November 20, 2016. I received a call at 2pm on this day that their location would be closing at 4pm and that I needed to come early. I rushed to get transportation to the rental location. When I arrived there was one person in front of me and her transaction took approximately 15 min. During this time, the single representative working the desk did not say hello or that they would be with me shortly or acknowledge my presence at all. When I was finally helped, the sales representative was short, rude and very impersonable. He did not say hello, was cold with his answers and made very little eye contact. He was rushing me through the check-in process which made me feel very undervalued as a customer. I have used Hertz for rental cars multiple times throughout this year to commute home to Sacramento as well as weekend trips to Las Vegas. I have continued to use your company because of the excellent customer service I have received at your San Diego International airport location. The car today was picked up from the Marriott Marquis (333 W. Harbor Drive San Diego CA) and a location I will not use again. Because of this poor experience, I will think twice before using your company at all. Thank you for your time in reading my feedback.
