Super good place for spending time and chill with kids. Good location to stay when you have plan to visit Heide Park. Friendly hosts.
The only thing what we missed in room was the fridge
A very qiet place with a lot of options for outdoor activities. Local food with focus on meat-based dishes. Only a couple of minutes from the Autobahn which brings you to Hamburg in less than 1 hour.
Kitchen closes at 8:30pm even on a Saturday evening! We got stuck in traffic: No warm meal. They made us some sandwiches which cost nearly as much as the "Rostbraten"! Overall there was no real value for money this includes breakfast. In the morning the ladies who cleaned the rooms tried to get into our room while we were still in there. (Another hour to go before check-out time!). Response from management when we complained was not very professional.
We traveled 2 adults and 2 kids (7 and 13 years old) a lot of things to do for the younger kids but also a football place for the older kids to play with. No cars or roads so kids can run around without anything for us to worry about. Nice walking paths around the area. Nice restaurant with good food and drinks and ice creams. Good to know: No other restarant´s or shoppes in the area, you need to take the car 10-20 minutes if you need anything. Nice rooms (no AC)
Well-appointed homes with plenty of space for extremely reasonable prices. The guesthouse is surrounded by beautiful woodland and yet close to town and shopping. Very child friendly with playground and delicious breakfast buffet. In addition, close to Center Parcs, where you can romp with the kids in a huge swimming area.
Beautiful location right on the moor, spectacular view also from the restaurant. Bathroom fully functioning and had what you needed.
Was a bit disappointed, honestly. Last stop on our 12 day car trip visiting several countries and hotels - and checking in I had such high expectations. The scenery is absolutely beautiful, stunning view over the moor also from the restaurant. However, going to the room a powerful stench of garbage hits us - all over the area where those who had rooms with small front yards sit and enjoy the sun.. We get to the room and it's blah and right under the roof so HOT, no fan. One of the wardrobe doors can't be opened, the key is all twisted. No coffee/tea kettle in or outside of room - nice touch in other hotels, but not here. Going to dinner we order from the menu card - waiter forgets to inform us, that they have a more exciting menu of the day, which is not visible from where we sit. My daughter gets her schnitzel and this is the ONLY hotel on our trip where the peas and carrots must have come from a tin - they are all mushy and the peas have that khaki colour.. really disappointing when you have missed good vegetables! I got the feeling that they tried but couldn't quite get it together. Might have been the intense heat, but sad for a last stop on the way home.
