Hotel Conde Duque Bilbao

Hotel staff were all very polite and helpful. Our room was very clean and well equipped. Beds were comfy and the room cleaned to an excellent standard every day. On the whole breakfast was very good with plenty of variety to choose from. . All of the major attractions are within easy walking distance and so is the nearest tram stop. Trams are excellent and very cheap and easy to use. Again I would say the people working on the front desk are first class.

We had an inner facing room looking out to an inner courtyard, which meant that we found there was no view whatsoever to the outside. The window itself had been blocked off with a photo print which did make the room very dark and claustrophobic. Had I known this at the time of booking, I would have requested another room. Our room was 304. Another problem we found was that the room was not very soundproof and hence noises from adjacent rooms and the corridor. There was a great deal of noise in the early hours of the morning from guests returning. At breakfast there is a tendency to not replenish the fried eggs. I asked the waitress if she was going to cook more eggs as the ones left were all broken yolks and spread out, she said that was what I had to eat. I think a good hotel would have cooked me another egg.

A fridge and kettle to make tea or coffee would be handy but did not spoil our stay
