KAYAK’s top tips for hiring a car in Wagga Wagga

  • To hire a vehicle in Wagga Wagga, you need to be at least 21 years old with a full and valid driver’s licence. Note that if you are between 21 and 24 years of age, a young driver surcharge will likely be applied to your Wagga Wagga hire car. Even if you’ve booked cheap car hire in Wagga Wagga, this surcharge will increase the daily hire price. Each car hire agency in the region handles this surcharge differently, so it’s worth checking the terms and conditions before booking your preferred vehicle.
  • If you’ll be travelling with children, note that Australian car seat rules apply to hire cars in Wagga Wagga. Infants must be placed in a rear-facing child car seat. Any children aged 6 months to 4 years will need to use a forward-facing or rear-facing child car seat with a harness. From the ages of 4 to 7, youngsters must be fitted into either an approved booster seat or a forward‑facing child car seat with a built-in harness. After the age of 7, children should still use a booster seat until they are tall enough for a seatbelt. Whichever option you use, your child's seat must be compliant with Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 1754.

Around 40 km south of Wagga Wagga along the A41, you’ll find The Rock Nature Reserve - Kengal Aboriginal Place, which offers scenic hiking trails and stunning views of the region.

  • Wagga Wagga car hire shouldn’t add any stress to your holiday. The only things to really be careful of are other drivers, as is the case anywhere, and wildlife. Kangaroos are known to jump across roads without warning and they are especially difficult to see around dawn and dusk. It is advised to not drive in more rural areas or roads lined with bush whilst it’s dark. In the city centre, however, you should be fine.

Not Hertz Fault Booked the car Twice on Kayak Told last minute they did not confirm booking and cannot book the car as Hertz had no car available. They should not have offered the option to hire the car at low cost for those dates if they cannot provide the car It is false advertising and I will be seeking answer from the orbudsman
